Dylan's POV
Okay.. so I screwed up. I acted like a complete Idiot and Riley's first impression of me was probably one of the worst ones EVER. I really wanted to help her when she went in to the nurses office and make her forgive me but I understood that she didn't want me to be there, so instead I just decided to explore this place.
FHMI really only had 3 buildings. I guess you could call the first building a "School", the building didn't have anything special except a gym hall, a couple of empty classrooms and an art room so I didn't stay there for long. Another reason why I left the school was that the nurses were giving me creepy looks and well, I wasn't interested.
The second building was the one I left to explore the school, it was a two story building with a total of 51 rooms where all the patients could sleep. Nothing really interesting there. The third building was attached to the school and had all of the staff rooms. It also had one big cafeteria where some people were sitting playing cards and whispering in their small groups. When I entered the cafeteria everyone fell silent, well everyone except a small brunette girl sitting in a corner rocking back and fourth whispering something in a different language.
Well... This is strange..?
Am I in some cliché movie or something??
Then I realized that they weren't looking at me but the person behind me.
"Move." a deep voice growled at me and I turned around to see who it was and to find out why all of the attention in the room was on us. I made eye contact with the man in front of me and quickly realized he was one of those typical alpha males, that often run the school. I had never really had any problems with those kind of guys before and I had definitely not expected that there would be one here but I guess I was wrong. I wasn't here to fight or to claim that position for myself so like any other sensible guy I moved and said "Hey man, I didn't come here to cause any trouble okay? I'm just new around here and I didn't realize I was in your way."
Confused he raised an eyebrow, "Wait, you're the new guy? The one living in room 143?"
"Yeah, how did you know I live in 143?"
"Well.. I know Riley..." He said with uncertainty "I'm Austin by the way."
"I'm Dylan" I answered with a polite smile. Maybe I could get some friends here after all.
Austin went to one of the tables where three guys and one girl were sitting. All of the men seemed pretty scary, with nasty scars and lots of tattoos but I don't judge them. We all go through bad stuff and that is part of the reason of why we're here. Surprisingly enough he waved me over and introduced me to all of them.
"This is George, Stefan, Sam and my gorgeous girl Destiny" Austin ended his short speech with planting a quick kiss on Destiny's lips. George was the tallest one of them and I found out that he was a man of few words. Stefan seemed pretty nice until he started bragging about how many girls he had slept with "... She just couldn't get enough of me" he ended his story with and everyone around the table erupted in laughter and I joined in. Sam and Austin were probably the most normal people in the group and as soon as I got past their dangerous appearance we had a good time talking and they told me all of the basic rules in FHMI and even though I had listened to one of the staff in the office talking about the rules, Austin and Sam's rules made it seem like the staff didn't really care about what we did during our time here as long as no one died. I guess that explained why none of the staff had went up to Riley an I when she was bleeding.
"What about you Dylan? Do you like have a girl?" Destiny suddenly asked me giggling and twirling her blonde hair between her fingers.
Darkness passed through my eyes and my answer came out pretty harsh. "No, I fucking don't." Destiny didn't seem to notice my change of mood and just continued to talk about all of the girls here that would be interested in me.
"Yup. As long as you don't do anything with Austin's girl." Stefan said jokingly.
I laughed but I'm not sure my fake laugh convinced anyone. I really didn't want to talk about any girls and now I just really wanted to return to my room.
"It was cool to meet you all but I think I have to go back to my room to get pack up my stuff an get sorted " I said and they just nodded their heads understandingly. The part about needing to pack up my stuff was a complete lie but I really didn't care as long as I got a break from the conversation about getting me a girl.
The only girl I felt comfortable thinking about was my mom and probably Riley, I don't know why that is, since even thinking about girls made me depressed but after our disastrous encounter I really wanted to fix things between us. Last time I saw her she looked horrible with blood everywhere and hopefully, If I didn't screw up again I might actually see her face without any blood.
Strange.. I didn't get any flashbacks about that time like I usually do when thinking about blood.

I quietly and carefully opened the door to the room and entered. Riley was sitting in one corner of her bed holding a book of some sort and a pencil in hand. She looked over the corner of the book and straight into my eyes and I must say I was startled for a moment there. I had opened my mouth to say something but I instantly forgot the words.
She actually looked pretty decent.
WTF man, admit it. She looks HOT
Riley rolled her eyes, seemingly amused by my embarrassment.
"Are you just gonna sit there staring at me or do you have something you want to say?"she said after closing the book she had in her hands.
I panicked. I didn't know what to say. I'm not really a planner. I just do, so that's what I did. I said the first thing that came to my mind.
"Uh, you're prett... I mean, I think we should start over, I seriously didn't mean to hit you with the door, My name is Dylan Moore" My face heated up a bit after almost saying something so freaking stupid but thankfully I saved myself from doing so. I just held out my hand and hoped she would take it. She didn't.
What's wrong with you?!?? Can't even have a normal conversation with a girl without making a fool of yourself? you're so...
I was overthinking things but got interrupted by her voice. Thank god. I can't even describe how relieved I felt.
"Riley"
I then gave her one of my biggest, most genuine smile ever and somewhere in the background of my head a victory song had started playing.
We are the champions,
we are the champions
No time for losers 'cause we are the champions of the world
