Chapter 10
Jessy Carson P.O.V
What the hell am i doing? Im falling right into his arms again. I cant let that happen! I had spent way to many nights crying myself to sleep over him. No, Jessy. You've just been handed the team, you cant screw it it up now. I smiled to myself and skipped down the hallway to Caleb's room. Andrew had went back to philly a week ago so i couldn't tell him the good news. I raised my hand to knock but before my knuckles hit the door he hollered at me.
"Open the door Jessy." Shrugging my shoulders I opened the door and jumped down on his bed.
"How did you know it was me?"
Caleb raised an eyebrow and looked at the food in my hands. My mouth formed an 'O'
"No one in this house eats after eleven Jess, unless something really good happened. By looking at the ice cream and hot fudge bars in your arms something really really good just happened." Caleb laughed.
Why did my brother's know me so well?
"Actually it did." I was all smiles just thinking about it.
"OK?" Caleb urged me on.
"I'm head coach as of Monday morning." i bit my lip to keep from screaming. he had no idea how excited i was. A smile crossed Caleb's lips, ah, i can breath now.
"congratulations, sissy. Oh by the way you might want to go get the door."
I looked at him confused, no one was here. right as i was going to argue with him our doorbell rang, and by rang i mean the old doorbell system had been replaced with a speaker system that blared "jingle bells, batman smells." apparently my brothers thought a long time ago it would be funny to do that because, well my dad was batman. I had given him that name when i was seven, he didn't like it too much but he dealt with it. I slid down the banister to the front door, when i opened it i almost passed out. What the hell was he doing here???
"Normally it would be polite to say hello when you answer the door." he had a slight smirk on his lips, why was it i wanted smack that off his face all the time?
"what are you doing here?"
"I came to talk to John, but i see his truck isn't here."
"Yeah, well ill tell him that you came by, jacob."
for an instant i saw hurt in his eyes but it was quickly replaced by something else.
"Wait." Jake put his hand on the door stopping me from shutting it.
"what?"
Jacob stepped in the doorway.
"We need to talk, Jessy."
"No we dont."
Laughing from the hallway caught both of our attention, Caleb was standing there with his jacket.
"Hey Jake, take it easy with her alright?" Caleb questioned as he walked out of the door. Caleb knew the whole time that Jake was coming, that jackass.
"thats why you wanted me to answer the door." i said in astonishment. Caleb walked out the door shutting it behind him. Jacob took the advantage and moved closer to me.
"Traitor"i mumbled under my breath, he was supposed to be on my side of all this. this time it was Jacob's turn to laugh.
"c'mon Jessy, im not going to bite you." his voice was low and sexy, it almost sent shivers down my spine.
"we have nothing to talk about Jacob, you need to leave." I pointed at the door.
"you are constantly running from me! Stop, stop it all right now, its just you and me. No interruptions, we have to find some kind of middle ground here." Jacob was almost pleading with me
"why after all this time? I'm not some doll that you can play with when its convenient. hell your still married why are you here?"
Jacob took a step back.
"Yes I'm still married, but did you know Ive been separated with Sarah for two years? did you know that she left me? I was being a man and dealing with it and shes the one who left me, she left our son."
"Don't you dare bring Jordyn in this, he has nothing to do with what happened between us." by this time i was pissed. Jake didn't need to bring jordyn into this, he was an innocent little boy.
"yeah i know Jessica. I know you looked at him and hated me even more for walking away from you!" Jacob yelled. he was frustrated and upset but i didn't ask him to come here and bare his soul.
"I walked away from you, jacob remember."
as soon as the words left my mouth i had wished i never had said them, why didn't i have that filter between my brain and my mouth?
"yeah, and i wallowed in self pity with sarah! I forgot all about how you broke my heart."
that shocked the hell out of me, i didn't have his heart to break, he never let anyone close enough to do that.
"what nothing to say?" jacob stepped closer to me. I still said nothing.
"why are you shaking?" he took another step closer, I was shaking it seemed to be all i could do when he was around.
"you never like anyone i brought home. (an: no their not siblings, they grew up together and he stayed at her house a lot) why is that Jessy?" he questioned again, leaning closer to me, at this angle i was too aware of how much of a powerful male he was.
"because it wasn't me." the truth slipped out before i could control it. I covered my mouth with both hands but it was too late, Jake's face lit up with surprise. Our faces were close enough that if either one of us would move we would kiss. some where between being shocked and Jacob leaning closer to me i dropped my hands. ugh stupid stupid girl. i thought to myself. Jacob leaned in to kiss me, as soon as our lips touched my cell phone rang. I broke away fumbling with my phone, i forgot how much Jake's kisses left me breathless.
"He..hello?"
"Coach!" the voice yelled, obviously drunk. why was it that i was always the one getting the drunken phone calls in the middle of the night?
"Castle?"
Jake looked at me and backed up.
"yeah....listen we have a problem. we cant get a hold of John or Dylan."
