Max's P.O.V
I hadn't seen her cry in a long time, but as soon as she looked up I felt pain in my heart. It hurt to see her cry.
I took her into my arms, like I use to, stroking her hair and telling her everything was going to be okay, that we would figure this out together and that we would get payback on that man for making this happen.
"But what if we can't control it. What if I become that monster, that only thirsts for disaster."
"You won't. I'll keep you safe Nick I promise." She hadn't winced at the pet name. I hated pet names, but it kept from causing her pain, so I'd have to use it for just a little while. "Well just have to figure this out together okay."
"But I don't want to hurt you. You're my brother and I would never forgive myself if I hurt you. Maybe I should leave for a while to keep you safe."
"No your not leaving me. That's final. We're just going to have to go find Mom and Dad, they'll know what to do."
She looked away from me. She must be really scared. I've never seen her this way before.
"You're my sister, I'm not giving up on you. We're in this together remember?"
My sister and I had made a pact when we were little to always stay together. We needed each other. We were like the alpha and omega of our own wolf pact. We had promised to never give up on each other no matter what happened. This time was no different. She is my sister and I'm never leaving her.
"Max they're going to find me eventually. They're going to try and take me away, then their going to use me to get to you. For all you know I could still partially be under his control. I don't want to hurt you Max, you're to important to me for me to hurt you. I don't care what happens to me. I make a promise to you now that you would most likely be better off without me being here with you."
"And i promise you now Nick that I wouldn't be able to stop worrying about your safety for five seconds if you left. You're not leaving and that's final."
She looked away from me again. I knew she didn't want to leave me. I'd kept her safe ever since we were little. She doesn't want things to change and neither do I. "Nick please don't go. You're my sister. I don't want things to change now, things have been the same for to long for them to change now."
"I'll stay as long as you promise. Promise that as soon as you see me go under his control and I try to kill you that you'll run and leave me behind wherever I am. That you put your safety first. That is what matters to me most. So promise."
I thought for a moment. She wouldn't stay with me unless I promised her this. I had to. "Alright I promise."
She sighed in relief. I was going to get to keep my sister, but for how long that would be I have no idea.
