Violetheart sprang from tree to tree as she ran from her old Clan leader. "THUD" she heard as he thundered closer, she sprang to the next tree barely making it to grab its branch. scrambleing to get a foot hold she fell. as she stood up and looked back she saw her previous Clan leader running restlessly towards her. scrambleing to her paws she raced off through the trees, springing over rocks and dodgeing bushs. She sprang up a tree and tried to scramble to the top, looking down she saw her pursuer at the foot of the tree. "Come down and fight like your mentor tought you to!" he yowled. "I cant, Smokestar! your were my Clan Leader!" she yowled with what breath she had left. Smokestar sprang up the tree in what seemed an effertless leap. She got to her paws and leaped to the next tree hearing Smokestar claw and scramble in the tree beside hers, she leaped down and raced though the trees with such power and fear she almost lost her breath. She came to a sudden halt as she saw the Clif her Clan had feared for seasons. Smokestar yowled behind her and she spun around to see him slowing himself and stop three tail-linghs away. "Now you have two choices, leap down the Clif, Or stand and fight." he sneered. Violetheart thought she saw some bit of saddness and fear flash in his eyes and wished she could just close her eyes and be back where she was when she was a kit.
