There really is a beast that stalks the woods, I thought as I began to shake I fear. I looked back to the shadow and froze in terror as the shadow seemed to be staring into the window above me. I could hear the snuffling like sniffing of the creature above me. Too terrified to move, I prayed to whoever was listening that the thing would just leave.

"Oh? What do we have here? Hunting down your prey or are you hunting for your owner?" came a voice that sent chills down my spine. I watched as another shadow appeared on the wall. The creature quickly turned towards the person and lowered its head as a growl erupted from its throat.

"Now, now. That is not very nice. It just so happens that what you're looking for is the same thing I am looking for. So how about you be a nice little demon and help me out," said the voice again.

The creature sunk closer to the ground and growled menacing again. I could hear the jaws snapping shut.

"You only appear when He appears, or should I say in this case She. Where is the Moon God Mani, Beast?" snarled the voice.

Moon God? First demons and now gods? I peered around my shoulder and peeked out the corner of the window. I could make out the dark shape of what had to be the man and the fuzzy shape of the beast. The human figure glanced up at the window and I quickly shrank back. My heart raced and I was afraid that the two figures would be able to hear it.

"So you're not going to tell me? Well no matter. I am sure that I will figure it out soon enough. This place is filled with plenty of humans, anyone of them could be the Him. I think I will stay around this place that the humans call college," the voice snickered.

Turning my attention back to the wall shadows, I watched the human figure stalk back in to the trees. The beast's shadow just seemed to flow away with the wind as if it was smoke. The power flickered back on and my cell phone buzzed with a dial tone.

What in the world just happened??

I slowly got up from the floor, and shut and locked my windows.

I hope I never have to see those things again.

The next morning, I walked was walking to my first class when Wren came rushing up to me.

"Bryn! Are you okay? You had me worried. The phone just went dead!" he panted.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Actually I don't really know what happened last night. More like I don't even know how to describe it," I told him. "Shortly after the phone went dead, there was this shadowy beast thing that was stalking outside my dorm. I could see it in the shadows. It had a jaw full of sharp teeth," I told him shuddering just at the thought of it. "And then there was this person, man, whoever that was talking to the beast. He was asking something about a god. And apparently he never got his answer because the person went back into the woods and the wolf just vanished. Like literally! It vanished into thin air. Then the power came back on. It was supper strange," I replied walking quickly to class.

"So, he already knows," Wren muttered under his breath. I could just barely make out what he said.

"What?" I asked him.

"Nothing," he said quickly jogging to catch up to me. Things are moving too quickly, he thought.
