Everything was dark, the only thing that could be heard was the sound of a heartbeat. Next thing I knew I was in a room with Lyra sitting in a chair. Tears stained her face.

"Choose." I then turned around to see another me. Or so it was, it looked like me from when I was 8 years old.

"What?"

"Choose is it going to be her life," Lyra then had a gun held against her head. She screamed my name. "Or will it be yours? You have three seconds to decide or I will decide for you."

"No please don't hurt her I choose to save Lyra-."

"Too late." The trigger was then pulled.

"LYRA!" I went running towards her but was stopped by a sharp blade racing through my stomach.

"I never promised that both of you would live. Now listen up Lyra knows about you Kai and she wants to help. You are not going to let her help you, got it?" He grabbed my face and stared right into my eyes. "And I will be with you throughout the whole thing. If you let her see something that you are working on I will destroy you from the inside out. Now wake up already you bastard." Once he let go of me I fell to the ground and watched him walk off. I tried to stand up but it was as if I was stuck to the ground. I began to struggle but it seemed to be sucking me in now. Then I was falling.

"*Gasp* Ahh!" I said as I fell onto the floor in the living room. When I hit the ground I cringed in pain and looked down at my stomach where the pain was. I was bleeding terribly from that area. Lyra came running in and I picked myself up off the ground.

"Kai what happened?" We both stared at where I was holding my hand and I pulled it away. Blood dripped onto the floor and Lyra went running to get the phone.

"Hello 911, yeah my friend just woke up and he is bleeding from the stomach area. It looks like a stab wound but I don't know how he was stabbed and he didn't it to himself."

"Okay we will send an ambulance your way, I just need your address."

"Um. we live in Riverside neighborhood, house number 243."

"We will be there soon." I then fell back down to the floor. I was still bleeding out as I fell unconscious.

"Please hurry he just fell unconscious." After I fell unconscious I was in a room dressed up in a suit and tie that was black and red. Smooth music was playing and the younger me was sitting in a chair with one leg crossed over the other and his hands folded. He was also in a suit and tie but his was black and white. The room was lit with candles forming a circle around us. Everything out of the circle was pitch black.

"Why did you choose black and red Kai? What is wrong with the one I suggested?"

"Well that was your choice, and I look better in black and red."

"Don't lie to me Kai, you're only lying to yourself."

"But you're not me. You're just a demon living inside of me that I can't let go. You are my fear."

"Then why don't you just destroy your fear?"

"If I destroyed my fear then I wouldn't be able to consider myself human anymore."

"When were you ever considered human?" I stared at him in a funny way.

"Is there any way that you could change your form?"

"Why do I need to?"

"It seems kind of stupid to be conversating in this way to a demon who is trying to look like the 8-year-old me." He glared at me but then changed his form. This time, he actually looked like a demon. His skin was a maroon red and he was now around my height. He had ram horns and small black pupils.

"Is that better for you?"

"Perhaps, yes I guess so. So are you going to always be with me?"

"As long as you have fear I will be. Speaking of fear, Lyra might die from it if you don't wake up. Here's a little heads up, vehicle." When I woke up I realized I was in an ambulance. I grabbed Lyra's hand tightly and she lifted her head in surprise, tears streaming down her face. I held my other hand over my mouth and my face became very pale. Her tears began to fall harder once she lifted her head to see me.

"Kai... How is this possible?"

"I don't know what you're talking about but if you don't get me something to puke in, it will be all over you instead." A paramedic handed me a trash bag and I threw up in it.

"How are you alive right now? This doesn't make any sense."

"I still don't know what you're talking about."

"When the paramedics got you in the ambulance and hooked you up to the heart monitor, your heart rate fell down at an alarming pace... you died from blood loss Kai." My eyes widened at what had just come out of her mouth.

'Was it really true? Did I just die and come back to life?'
