Flames raged around them as they sped through the land. Farms burned, forests burned, towns burned, cites crumbled to ashes. Galvin was on a killing streak, at this rate, he'd confront the king in a week's time. He wasn't ready, he didn't feel ready. To make matters worse, Sage had contracted a strange illness and was temporarily decommissioned. He didn't have Caper telling him what to do, he didn't have Darwin delivering orders, and Darien ceased to make sense. Everything that could go wrong, was going wrong.
They pitched camp on the crest of the hill. Shining in the distance were the walls of the city. A thousand feet high, and fifty feet thick. A league beyond that, through a dense maze of stone and wood buildings, was the center of the city. A towering citadel, the home of the Fallen King. No matter how many times he told himself it was ridiculous, he continued anyway. Tomorrow they would infiltrate the city.
Just a filler chapter, sorry if it's getting boring. Once this is over, I have a ton of editing to do. After he last chapter, this story will be far from complete. If you have any sugestions, please let me know.
