Veer's POV
Composing is though. You can't write shit and tune an awfully painful background to it. That's how some songs these days are, but I don't agree to them, they are not songs, they are shit.
I wrap up my things and slid the guitar over my shoulder. Raj was waiting for me outside.
"You are coming, she would be glad to meet you," Raj was convincing Ishita for something, they were in the corridor. Wasn't he supposed to wait for me outside?
"I would love to meet her too, but I really can't," Ishita says.
What are they talking about?
"She was apparently your best friend back then, and you know how she is, she will drag you from here, if you don't come" Raj is pleading "or she might even kill me for not persuading you" he adds with puppy eyes.
"That's melodramatic"
"I'm into soaps these days, they are funny" Raj cracks a joke and she laugh as if it was the best ever joke, RUBBISH.
"You coming right?" he asks hopefully. Is he asking her out? Ayy! No, that can't probably happen.
My mind wandered away to the thought of how it would be to see your ex-wife and your best friend dating, not that it was a bad idea, they have known each for a quite long time and she always had a better opinion about Raj.
They could make the world's worst pair.
Ugly duckling and dumb duckling. LOL.
"This is the first and last time I'm giving in," she says and he smiles. URGH.
"Bro, I have been waiting for you since long we are getting late," Raj waved towards me.
I took slow steps towards them; I might be disturbing their 'happy moment'.
"What took you so long?" Raj asked fiddling with the car keys coolly.
"You were too busy in other things that you didn't notice my presence. I have been standing there around 10 minutes," I sounded bitter.
He had ignored me.
"Really?" he was surprised, "You guys carry on, I have some pending work" Ishita excused herself.
"See you tonight" Raj shouted, she turned around and smiled.
Painful.
I mean, it's painful to see such an awful couple.
"What?" he crocked his eyebrows. I shook my head and walked past him.
"Are you planning to cheat on Meera for her?" I asked as he drove the car.
"Eh?"
"What's going on between you and Ishita?" I asked and regretted the next moment; it was supposed to come out as a joke.
"Are you mad?" he quickly turned towards me briefly.
"You were asking her out for a date" I shrugged my shoulders and looked out of the jeep.
"I had asked to come over to our party, don't you remember Ananya has landed. She wanted Ishita to be there too," Oh shit, how can I forget? You're an asshole.
"You're an asshole" Raj sighed, Bro feels.
"Did you think I asked her out, you're disgusting," he added.
"Whatever"
*
"Are you planning to kill us?" Raj struggled to complete his words.
We are at Lake Point and Ananya had been hugging us like her life depended on it.
"It's not that easy to get rid of you," she hits on his shoulder.
"What's that?" Raj wipes away tiny tears from her eyes, "OMG, OMG, OMG YOU ARE CRYING" I mocked and now it was my turn to get hit by her.
"I just got emotional. The New York tour was tiring and more importantly boring. Hadn't I asked you monkeys to tag along," she complained wiping her nose, she's insanely cute, like a little puppy.
"How I wish" I muttered.
"We could have missed some drama, had we joined you," Raj commented.
"Gosh, tell me everything, like every single detail. I don't want miss even the slightest of it," She jumped excited. Why so much energy, girl?
"There's nothing, stop acting like a hungry journalist," I butted in.
She glares at me for a few minutes "I never asked you, so shut up" she turned towards Raj "and you tell, what are you waiting for, Santa?"
Raj was busy narrating and Ananya was busy listening, they were BUSY and I WAS FUCKING BORED.
After all the narration, Ananya looked at me. Fuck you, says her face.
Storm is coming, storm on the way. Storm reaches the shore.
"YOU'RE A PATHETIC LOOSER, VEER. STOP TROUBLING HER OR I'LL CUT YOUR BALLS," he yelled at me, on top of her voice.
Expected.
She calmed herself, her breathing back to normal. "Did you know you kind of look cute when you're angry?" I ask. TOPIC CHANGER.
"It's been 12 years that we've known each other and your lines haven't ever worked on me," says Ananya.
Successful. YAY.
"They were never meant to. If I wanted those lines to work, they would have probably worked."
"Whatever"
And that was right. I had literally seen her shave her hairy legs. Like hairy legs. Like when the hair on your legs becomes long and they curl. Once you see that, you can't go back. You can't fall in love with the girl ever again.
Though Ananya was kind of cute. Thin. Petite. Full lips. Big eyes. And a really cute face made of cupcakes, candy and smiles of little puppies.
"Guys, this is awesome," she says toasting our beers.
"Like our old college days," she adds.
"But seriously, this would moment would have been ruined if she takes in invite and comes," I gulp down a sip of beer "and we would have been drinking poison instead of beer" I add.
"Shut up, she used to be my best friend back then" Ananya say and again hit on my arm.
"Back then, she used to be my wife; but now she isn't." I said, Ananya hummus in response.
"And moreover, she doesn't have the guts to meet me outside the office." I added.
"Really?" Raj asked gulping down beer and I nodded confidently.
"And what if she has the guts?" Ananya asked me suddenly, "She's coward, she won't come" I answered.
"Aw! This is the reason why people say, think before you speak" She said smirking.
"Huh?"
"Turn" she orders
"...." I'm confused.
"Turn, you idiot" she titled my head, there she was! TROUBLE.
A/N. Ananya is here. Did you like her? Ain't she cute, but there's always more to a cute and beautiful face, maybe hidden secrets, I'm sure you'll see a different side of this cheeky, beautiful girl as the story progresses.
