Chapter 9

Summer’s Pov:

“Ok considering you are a girl...”



“How about Prue...? No too weird. Gizzy...? Different but I don’t think it would suit you. Kelsey? Harper? Demi? Unique? Argh!  Why is it so hard to think of a good name for you! It’s not like you can talk to me or anything. How am I supposed to know your name, when I just met you? You’re a complete mystery to me. Oh... Mystery....Misty? Arghhh, Misty! That’s what I will call you. The perfect name for the perfect dog.  Kind of has a ring to it too, don’t you think?”

Looking at the dog, I suddenly realised the dog looked happy with my choice of name.

Knowing we have been in the woods for too long now, I decided to start walking again with Misty following.

Argh who would have thought walking could be so tiring? Mind you we did walk about 7 miles! Thankfully, we managed to make it to the city. How? I will never know.

Making sure Misty was ok I turned to pet her.  I didn’t realise by doing this I would bump into someone. 

“Sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to bump into you! Please forgive me!? Are you ok? Do you need help with anything? Gosh I’m so stupid!” I said while looking at the lady.

“Don’t not threat about it child, it was not just your fault, it was mine as well. I was not look were I was going. So we are even. Relax child, I will not mad at you, I promise! Now what is your name?”

“My name is Summer. What’s your name Mrs?”

“My name is Hailey Queen, but you can me H if you like! You look like a lovely sweet girl Summer. What are doing out here early in the morning? You do know it is 5 am right? Shouldn’t you be in bed sleeping?”

“Ugh...well....I um...kindranawayfromhomebecausemyparentsbeatmeandihadenoughandwantedtogetawayfromitallandhaveafreshstartandfindoutwhatlifereallyislikewithoutthebeatingsandall!"

“I’m sorry Summer... what did you say?”

“I ran away from home because my parents beat me and I just had enough of them torturing me all the time.”

“Well that’s settled then. You and your dog can move in with me! I mean if you want to of course! I have always wanted a daughter! Never had one though! You don’t have to pay any rent or anything. I own a 5* Hotel called ‘HQ3’, it’s amazing I’m sure you will love it! Please stay!”

After a few seconds to process what she said I was utterly shocked. Who in their right mind would take in a girl of the streets into their home while knowing them for only Five minutes? I think that’s why I like Hailey, she the type of lady who is still has a bubbly personality even thought times can be hard.  Knowing what my answer would be I said...

“I will say yes... but on one condition! I get to help you out with the hotel whether it is to clean rooms or help customers... but I will help you one way or another. Got it?”

“Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Thank you so much! You are not going to regret your decision.  Ok come on were are only a couple of blocks away from the hotel, when we get there you can have a bath or shower, your choice, and then go to bed. If you want the dog in the same room as you I don’t mind just tidy up after her ok. That’s all I ask."

About 10 minute later, we arrived at the most beautiful building I have ever seen in my life.   The entrance was magical. With all the bright lights, Christmas decorations, a man in a Santa Claus outfit, red Hollywood carpet, security guards, gold walls and hand carved white stone fountains inspired by the great old Italian fountains. Which looked like it was made out of Marble. There were two angels, a boy and girl next to a well to get water and lastly, there was a wishing well (where everyone threw in a coin and made a wish). All in this entire place was magnificent.

“Hailey, what exactly do you do around here? And how can you afford it. This must have cost you thousand of billions. I mean seriously!”
