Zero's POV
I went to my dorm and looked at myself in the mirror. Why did I drink her blood? Damn it... If only I stopped myself...but for some reason, she offered her blood to me without any hesitation.
I wanted to know more about her past. What did Shizuka do to her to cause her to hate her own mother? Why didn't she talk to anyone about it? What was she afraid of? All these questions remained unanswered in my mind.
Why was I even thinking about her?! *sigh* I couldn't get her out of my head, it's like we were meant to meet...kind of like an avoidable encounter. Ugh! Stop this! I didn't want to think about her right now. Why?...
~A few hours later~
I decided to visit her, there were still some questions that I wanted to ask. I quickly put on a coat and jumped out the window. I went to the Night Dorms.
"What are you doing here, Zero?" Aido asked.
"Tch, none of your business."
"Did you come here to see Miss (Y/n)?" Cain asked.
"Why do you care?"
"Well, you can't because she's asleep," Aido replied.
"I don't care what she's doing." I went up the stairs. A wall of fire blocked my path.
"You will not intrude on her sleep," Cain said in a serious tone. Aido glared at me.
"Leave now, Level E," he ordered. I glared back at them.
"What is going on here?" Ruka asked with an annoyed expression.
"Take a lucky guess," Cain replied.
"Lord Kaname?!" Aido exclaimed.
"Let him pass," Kaname said.
"But-" Ruka began.
"Do as I say," Kaname interfered.Cain got rid of the wall of fire and let me pass. I followed (Y/n)'s scent to her room. I knocked on the door but there was no answer so I decided to go inside.
"(Y/n)?"
She was asleep but was having a nightmare. She tossed and turned and muttered things in her sleep. Then she awoke with a start. Tears were streaming down her face. When she noticed me, she immediately told me to leave.
"But I need to ask you something."
"I don't care, just leave," she replied. More tears slid down her cheeks.
"What happened?"
"None of your business, you don't need to know," she said while burying her face in her knees.
"Please leave..." she begged.
"Tell me what happened first."
"Do you honestly not care what kind of a state I'm in right now?! Please just leave me alone!" she commanded.I didn't know why but I suddenly felt like doing what she told me to do. Maybe it was because she was the daughter of that woman. I forced myself to stay. I handed her a hankerchief.
"Thanks..." she muttered. I sat down next to her.
"Please tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing, nothing's wrong," she replied, still refusing to tell me.*sigh* There was an awkward silence. I got up to leave but she grabbed onto the back of my shirt. I turned my head to look at her.
"Please stay for a while," she said.
I hesitantly agreed. She lay down next to me and eventually fell asleep. I moved her hair away from her face. The moonlight shone down over her fragile body. I laid back on her bed and closed my eyes.
(Y/n)'s POV
~The next day~
I woke up to find Zero still here. He didn't leave?
"Oh, you're awake?" he asked suddenly.
"Yeah... You know you could've just left, why didn't you?"
"You begged me to stay," he replied while smirking.
"Yeah right *sarcasm*."I got my clothes and went to the bathroom to get ready. When I was done, Zero was casually sitting on my bed, reading a book.
"You should go back, Yuki's probably worried about you." He got up and put my book down.
"Yeah...see you around," he said.
"Alright, see you soon." He left by jumping out the window. I looked down. He waved at me while walking away.
"You know you could've went out the door."
"Tch, and meet those vampires? In your dreams," he replied coldly. *sigh* There was a knock on my door. Aido greeted me.
"Hi Aido."
"So how was your little talk with Zero?"
"Fine, I guess-" He gasped.
"What?"
"You actually tolerate him?!" he asked, surprised. I rolled my eyes.
"Miss (Y/n), you might wanna come look at this," Cain said. I followed him to Aido's room. Inside, there was a whole collection of...broken stuff.
"Um...?"
"It's his collection of Kaname's broken or used things," Cain explained then asked, "What should we do about it?"
"Please don't make me throw it out! These are my treasures!" Aido argued.Suddenly, Kaname appeared by the door. Cain quietly left. Aido slowly turned around. I cracked a small smile.
"Aido?" Kaname asked.
"Y-yes?"
"Clean this up," he ordered.
"But-"
"Now." Kaname left after saying that. Aido was left crying (in chibi form).
"Good luck."
"Aido does not need luck," he said proudly.
"Okay, whatever you say."I left to go explore around. I found myself at some stables. The white horse neighed at me. I held out my hand. It nuzzled its nose against my hand. I smiled. I wonder if I could ride him.
"What are you doing here?" Zero asked, appearing out of nowhere.
"I don't know, I just found my way here."
"Well, that's my horse, White Lily. Go find yourself another horse," he said.
"How rude..."He ignored me. I stared at his horse for a while before going to find another horse, like he said. But right when I was about to go, White Lily grabbed onto my sleeve.
"Please let go of me, Zero doesn't like me touching you." She still held onto to me. *sigh*
"Let her go," Zero ordered. She refused to let me go.
"I've been wondering...can I ride her?" Zero sighed in annoyance.
"Seeing that she won't take no for an answer, I suppose you can," Zero replied. I smiled.
"You sure do have a way with animals," he commented.
"Funny, I remember just a few days ago, you were saying how I couldn't find happiness with these innocent creatures." He rolled his eyes.
