Ryley's POV

"Tony wait!" Vic calls after Tony. Tony was already in the bathroom with the door firmly locked.

"Vic." I stop him before he can run after him. "Let me go. I want to deal with this." Vic sighs and walks back to Rose. I jog down the narrow hall and knock lightly on the door. Silence.

"Tony, it's me." I talk into the door.

"Go away."

"Hey look, I just wanted to make sure your alright." I say kindly. "I know what it's like to be afraid and let your nerves take over. That's why I'm here. Standing outside of this door, talking to you." I hear the door slightly squeak open. "Thanks." I say as I slide in, shutting the door after me.

"I'm sorry, I'm such a baby some times." I see Tony sitting on the toilet and rubbing his face.

"Your not a baby, your timid. Everyone needs a timid person in their lives. And really, I know you're only timid around people that you're not friends with. Rose has told me plenty of stories about how crazy you get when you are drunk and when you hang around your friends."

"Yeah that is true." He laughs and looks at me.

"I'll make this simple. Do you want to go to homecoming with me? It's just a dance, Rose and Vic, Rocky and Mike, plus Jasey and Jaime will all be there. We won't be alone and it's in public." I start rambling.

"Sure, sound like fun." He stands up and we walk back to the room awkwardly.

"So I have an idea for a new song." Jaime smiles when we get back to the room full of friendly faces.

~~~Three Weeks Later~~~
"Oh my Ryley! That looks beautiful on you!" I hear Rose squeal as I walk out of the changing room. "That blue looks so nice on you Mexican skin!" She adds. I look at the other girls dresses. They were all of our favorite colors but, they are all the same style, strapless with ruffles on the bottom.
"Rose, that purple looks beautiful on you." I smile at her.
"You really think so?" She checks herself out in the mirror.
"That grey looks great on you Jasey and same with the black on you Rocky." I smile at all of them. They are all so beautiful in there dresses. I smile at myself, happy I have made true friends for the first time in my life.
"Okay girls." Rose claps her hands together. "Vic is picking us up in fifteen minutes so we need to change and pay for these." She smiles as she skips into her dressing room.
Just as the girls told me on the first day of school, I have gotten use to Rose's crazy personality. I think it has something to do with the fact I have spent almost every waking moment with her but it's a fantastic thing. She has taught me so many great things about life and how to deal with the hard parts of it. It feels nice to have somebody you can depend on and look to for advice. I truly think she's my best friend, the only one I have ever had.
I walk out of the changing room, with my dress in my hand. I cash out as the other girls walk over and do the same. The exact moment we are all checked out and ready to go, Vic comes running in.
"Hi girls." He says, breathing heavily.
"We need to get back to your house Hun!" Rose yells as she runs out the door. I just giggle and chase after her. I jump into the back seat as soon as I hear more sets of feet pounding on the sidewalk.
"Nobody can beat us!" Rose says from the front seat. I laugh as the other girls finally get to the car. As they get in, Vic starts up the car.
"To your house!" Rose says with a point of her finger to the front of the car. Vic giggles and drives us back to the house.
~~~~~~

When we finally get to my house and I'm so happy to stretch my legs. I quickly run up the porch and fling the large front door up. I run up to my bedroom, putting my dress in my closet, and run back downstairs as the others walk in. I go to walk into the kitchen and stop. Tony is sitting at the counter with 2 Monster's in his hand.

"I guessed you would be tired after a day of dress shopping so I went out and bought some Monster's for us." He says with timid smile. Lately, whenever I'm not attached at the hip with Rose, I've been talking and hanging out with Tony. We are both that geeky person on the inside. For an example, we both LOVE Star Wars. I also learned he loves turtles, he even has a couple tattoos of them. "I brought you a white one." His smile grows.

"Oh my! That's my favorite kind!" I get really excited as I crack it open.

"You have only told me like a hundred times." He mumbles and I giggle. "I've noticed Rose has taken a liking to you." He sips his Monster as I do the same.

"Yeah." I look over at Rose who is sitting on Vic's lap, laughing, probably at one of his cheesy jokes. "She's a fantastic person."

"She really is. Her bubbly personality is great for helping people feel better when they are really down."

"Yeah I bet. I think it's crazy that you have been dealing with her since kindergarten."

He laughs. "Yeah I ask myself that question often." I lean my head on his chest as he plays with my hair.

"Love birds! Get you asses in here!" Rocky yells from the Living Room where everyone else is sitting.

"That's our que." Tony says and I giggle along. I groan as I get up from my comfortable position. Once Tony gets up, he grabs my hand and leads me to the living room.

"This is my house, I know where the rooms are." I mumble under my breath.

"Oh well." He smiles as we sit in the love seat. We join in the conversation and the room soon becomes full of warm smiles and laughter. I finally found a place where I fit in.
