A New Life

Family

I'm getting married today. My first thought when I woke up. Today was the day. I had been looking forward to since the day Mare and I had met. It was finally happening. I got out of bed. That was the last time I would be alone in my quarters. Mare was moving in with me. I walk into the main room. I checked the machine on the table.  "Good! It finished in time." I had made Romulan ale. I know that's it's kinda illegal but whatever. Today was my wedding day. Who cares? I turn the device off. I didn't want it to over process. "Six hours. Six hours until the wedding. I still had some duties today. I put on my uniform, fixed my hair, grabbed some breakfast, and left.

Bridge 
As soon as I arrived I was congratulated by everyone there. After all that I got back to my work. Nothing exiting today. Just another day. I was only on duty for five hours. Apparently it took an hour to get ready. For Mare maybe but not me. All I had to do was put on the ceremonial clothes I had. Mare was going to wear something my extravagant. She would be showing her house colours. Purple, black, and gold. The colours of house Seni. I finished all my duties for the day and left the bridge. The wedding was starting in an hour. I had to get ready.

In my quarters
I pulled out my outfit and laid it on the bed. I went to the bathroom and put on some makeup. Not a lot, just enough to amplify my facial features. I grabbed the machine off the table, then I left.

Ten Forward
Almost everyone was there be the time I arrived. Mare had yet to arrive. I set the ale on the bar counter.
"Guinan. Would you please serve this after the ceremony?"
"Of course. What is it?"
"Romulan Ale. I made some myself. I know that it's kinda illegal, but... Tonight I don't really care."
"All right. I'll make sure it gets served."
"Thank you."
Just then Mare arrived. She looked stunning. She was wearing a long dress, it was black with thick gold trimming and a line of purple around her middle. She wore silver eye shadow and lipstick, with black eyeliner. She had her jet black hair done up in a simple ponytail. She looked amazing. I walked over to her.
"Wow." I said, "You look stunning."
"Thank you. As do you."
"You ready for this?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"Me too."

After the Ceremony
Everyone was having a great time. Everyone was talking. Sometimes they would come over and say something to Mare And I but mostly we were alone. They gave us our space. We just stood there and swayed slowly back and forth to the music. Mare rested her head on my shoulder.  We didn't say anything. We didn't need to. We were thinking the same thing. I was the most amazing night of my life. I never wanted it to end.

Sorry this chapter is coming late. I lost about 3/4 of the chapter and I had to re-write it. Next chapter should be coming faster.
