Kimberly's POV (Chicago)

I looked out of the plane window in delight, as I Kimberly Parker finally arrived home from a one month stay in England with my Aunt.

I was absolutely dying to see my best friend Katie, as I hadn't seen her in like ages!

As soon as the seat belt sign came off I jumped out of my seat, nearly knocking the living daylights out of the middle aged man beside me. I waved a sorry at him as I quickly grabbed my carry on and rushed to the front of the plane.

"Hold on miss just let them place the stairs first." The male flight attendant told me impatiently as I pushed in the aisle. I glared at him while taking a step forward.

Finally the plane door opened and we were allowed to exit.

"MOM!" I screeched as soon as I saw my mother's blonde bob bouncing in the air, only to be held down by the middle aged man beside her.

"Kimmy!!! Come here missy!" she yelled to me, to the annoyance of the other people in the airport.

I ran to her arms and got squashed in return.

"Oh darling I am never letting you out of this dam country again!" Mom exclaimed letting happy tears exit her eyes.

"Neither will I." a familiar voice said.

"Andy!" I yelled turning around and jumping in my brother's arms.

"Hey Kimmy Koo Kins" he said in my ear.

I slapped him in the face "Geeezz Andrew I only just got home and that's all you can come up with."

Andy just smirked and grabbed my bag "come on lets go, Kim has to sleep off this jet lag before school tomorrow."

My shoulders slumped. Rats! I just remembered I would have to go to school tomorrow. Sucks to be me!

We went and got my suitcase, when I just realised that the strange man was gone. I was just about to ask about it when a black limo pulled up in front of us.

My mouth nearly dropped to the floor. "What the hell!?" I sputtered.

"I would shut that trap before a fly gets in Kim." Andy smirked and jumped in the car. I quickly snapped my mouth shut, and raised my eyebrows at mom.

"So.... what's with the fancy ride mom?" I asked gazing over the amazing interior.

"Oh.. well... you see" Mum stuttered.

"Just say mum! God!" I exclaimed!

"What mom is trying to say is that her dad passed on while you were away and the hotel business got given to her." Andrew said suddenly looking uncomfortable.

Guilt washed over me. I had been away enjoying myself while my family was going through a death!!! How selfish of me! "Oh my God, I am so so sorry mum! I should have been there for you!"

"Nonsense Kimberly, you needed that trip and you well deserved it." Mom stated while wiping away a stray tear.

I climbed onto the seat next to her and cuddled up "why didn't you call me or at least let me know?" I asked.

"Because I knew you would jump on the next plane home and I didn't want to ruin this experience for you." Mom replied.

"Oh mom I am so sorry" I said tears spilling out of my eyes as I remembered how much I would miss my Papa. I remember his war stories and his hour long jokes, the way his eyes would light up whenever we would talk about his deceased wife, the way he would treat me and Andy, as if we were his own children.

"I am going to miss Papa so much" I cried clinging mom's neck.

I leant down and closed my eyes; I remember blackness over taking me just as my mom said "we all will."

Lucas's POV (Toronto)

I put up my feet and turned on the X-box. I closed my eyes while it started up; it had been a long day of business meetings and interviews, I was so happy just to be able to have some relaxing time for myself to relax.

My phone started to vibrate in my pocket.

"Dammit phone!" I growled as I looked at the I.D surprised to see it was my Father calling.

"What do you wand dad?" I asked getting straight to the point. I wasn't in the mood for small talk tonight.

"Well you know Bea, right?"

"Yes dad what about your girlfriend?" I asked annoyed that he would pester me tonight of all nights about his girlfriend.

"Don't be rude Lucas. Well we have been invited out to dinner with her and her family in two weeks' time for Thanksgiving, I was wondering if you would like to..."

"I will see if I can fit it in!" I cut him off.

"Good night dad."

"Good night Lucas, remember the 28th, and bring a girl so she thinks my son is responsible!" dad reminded me.

I hung up and threw the phone on the couch.

Dad had introduced me to his girlfriend two weeks ago, and to tell the truth she wasn't that bad, but she reminded me too much of my mother's personality to make me like her. It was just distasteful.

Not in the mood to play any video games tonight, I walked into my bedroom and slipped off my shirt and pants and climbed into my nice warm bed.

Settling underneath the covers with one thought before I went to sleep.

"I hope there are hot girls in Chicago." I chuckled and closed my eyes.
