Kimberly's POV (Chicago)
I blinked twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming, even pinching my cheeks wouldn't work this time. I ran up the stairs as quickly as I could to see if upstairs had faired as bad as downstairs. I drew my hand to my mouth and fell down onto the hard wooden floor.
"Why didn't anyone tell me we were moving! Like seriously why wouldn't anyone tell me something this dramatic!" I yelled angrily at the reflection of myself in the window.
I threw my black glossy Prada bag with my Chanel purse against the wall and screamed in rage. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I screamed in horror again!
What have I become, who is the spoilt little brat that is staring at me in the mirror. I stood up and paced across the floor, I don't even know who I am anymore! I stood shakily on my feet and walked gracefully to my bag, I picked it up and placed in down on the hard floor. I looked around the room and puckered my lip.
"I can do this." I commanded myself.
I dialled my mothers phone number in calmly and waited for the three rings.
"Come on mom pick it up." I retorted.
Finally I could hear the other end pick up. "Hello Rachel Parker speaking." Mom said softly into the phone.
"Oh hi Mother, that just won the award of being the best mom in the world!" I spat sarcastically into the mouthpiece of the phone.
"Look its not as bad as you think dear I was going to tell you.." I cut my mom off before she could speak another word. "Yes it is Mom you said the same thing about my Grandfather, and you didn't even tell me my brother had turned into this immature player! What am I to you anymore?" I yelled expaseratly.
"I don't have friends anymore my whole life is ruined!" I started to sob uncontrollably. My whole life was getting turned upside down in the matter of days.
"Ok dear I want you to get your backside up to starbucks in the next 10 minutes so we can have a one on one chat." My mom said firmly saying there was no way out of it.
"Ok mum see you soon" I sighed as I picked up my bag and walked down the flight of stairs to the door. I walked out into the sun and walked down the busy street to the local starbucks.
I got there in 5 minutes, so I ordered a large Flat White for my mom and ordered myself my favourite whipped cream caramel frappe. I sat down behind a booth and checked my Facebook page for the first time today.
I started scrolling through everyones status' and saw one that Katie had put up an 3 hours ago.
"I was planning on having a wonderful day today with my fellow classmates when my ex best friend turned up. Turns out that she didn't visit fat camp for a month but just ate instead"
My jaw dropped in anger and surprise. I mean like who resorts to making bad comments about your ex best friend on facebook? And fat camp I never said I was going to fat camp, and I am not fat! And besides that comment was totally lame like that status was completely uninteresting.
Somebody touched my arm gently, I looked up and realised the whole café was quiet and everyone was staring at me with strange glances.
"Don't tell me I was yelling out loud?" I asked the person in the booth behind me in a whisper.
"Ugh I think you were." He whispered back carefully.
I covered my cheeks with my hands, this was so embarrassing. This has got to be the worst day of my stinking life. I grabbed the two drinks on my table and quickly raced out of the café to be met by my mom just about to walk in.
"Do I want to know what just happened?" mom asked me her eyes twitching.
"I don't think you do" I sighed dramatically. I led my mom over to a nice grassy patch of green in the nearby park and sat down.
"Ok darling spill your beans and I will spill mine. Deal?" Mom asked reasonably.
"Deal" I agreed. I sighed once more before I settled my head on my mother's lap and took a sip of my caramel frappe before I unfolded the dreadful events of my day.
"Ok remember my best friend Katie?" I asked with my eyes closed.
"Yeah the cute tan long legged hottie?" Mom replied innocently. I face palmed my face.
"Mom your not helping me!" I complained.
"Just continue love" Mom said smiling like a maniac. SometimesI wonder at her sanity.

"Oh my god sweetie!" Mom nurtured me rubbing my temples. Then in a flash of an instant she jumped up and yelled.
"Where the hell is my boy so I can rip his balls out, and where the hell doesthat little midget Katie live so I can chainsaw her to her death!" Mom shouted with her fists up in front of her face as if she was about to be in a boxing match. I jumped up and grabbed moms fists.
"There will be no ball ripping and no chainsawing." I stated loudly in my mothers face. Mom looked at me with a guilty smile and sat back down and pulled me with her.
"Ok then if I have to give it up for you." Mom replied. Trust my mum to turn seriousness into mushiness.
"Ok ok mom just stop being so weird and tell me every little single thing I need to know before I chainsaw you to death!" I joked giving my mom a kiss on her right cheek. Mom laughed then laid down on the grass and looked at the clouds. I copied her movement and closed my eyes drinking in the fresh air.
"I met a man." Mom stated softly.
"That's great mom that you actually meet people." I replied sarcastically. Mom sat up and looked at me.
"No I am being completely serious, I met a man whose name is Max Longwood, right here near Starbucks and I think he might be the one." Mom said fingering her white blouse.
I opened my eyes and turned and faced my mom on my elbow so I could see into her eyes.
"How do you know?" I questioned her thinking that maybe she might be pulling my leg.
"No I am for real, it was a coincidental meeting, it must have been fate, the minute I saw his green eyes and his strong build and his handsome features and his" Mom trailed on.
"You know what mom? I don't want to know, haha. But I am glad you have finally met someone through all of these years looking, but when do I get tomeet the green eyed Max Longwood?" I asked with a happy smile.
Mum grabbed me up and swung me around. "Max is coming over for dinner on Thanksgiving."
I smiled, I am so glad my single mother has finally found a descent man to be with. After my first father leaving us straight away after she gave birth, I have always had a certain distrust for men. I just hope that this Max lives up to true standards.
"Hey mom?" I asked suddenly realising something.
"Yeah?" Mum asked still smiling.
"Where are we moving?" I asked a little pout coming on to my happy face.
"Yeah remember how we said your grandfather passed away, and the business got passed onto me, well yeah with that came bucket loads of money. So we are moving into what you young folks call a mansion." Mom squealed happily.
"That's great mom! Now can you stop squeezing me or you will have to live eith the guilt of murdering your child" I said breathlessly.
Mom let me go instantly and laughed, "Let's go rip some balls off your brother"
I covered my face, why was my family so embarrassing!
