**Rin POV**

Rin Isami stared up at the enormous building in front of her. There, in all of its glory, was the infamous Ouran Academy. Even though it wasn't her decision to attend this preppy school, Rin couldn't help but be a little bit eager to experience the apparent significance of this establishment. Many reputable things have been said about Ouran, which was the reason Rin's mother applied for her to attend. Now, here she was, standing before the gates of the school.

Taking a deep breath, Rin stepped onto campus, admiring the beauty of the place. It must have taken years to get the school in such a state. The greenery scattered around the courtyard was the most amazing part. Dozens of different types of flowers, trees, and other plants were the foundations of this stunning scene. There were also multiple benches, gazebos, and stone statues that decorated the lawn.

Rin strode down the wide gravel pathway towards the grand entrance of Ouran Academy. People surrounded her on all sides. It was clear that they were all extremely wealthy. During the walk, a few students bumped into her, though only a couple apologized.  Rin also concluded that gossip was a regular conversation topic at Ouran, judging by the conversations and whispers she overheard.

"So far these people haven't given me a very good impression." Rin thought as some boys ran past her, making her long dark brown hair flutter around.

When Rin made it into the school, she followed the signs that directed her to the main office. The secretary looked friendly. Her chestnut brown hair was neatly put up in a bun and she had beautiful blue eyes. When the Isami heir stepped into the office, she looked up from her computer and smiled.

"Hello! How can I help you?" the woman asked politely.

"Hello, miss. My name is Rin Isami and-" Rin was cut off by the secretary.

"It's a pleasure to meet you! Here is your schedule, your classroom number, your locker number with the combination, and a map of the school," she said quickly.

"Thank you very much," the Isami responded.

"If you ever need anything, feel free to come back here. I hope you have a great time at Ouran!" the secretary said.

Rin smiled at the lady before walking out of the office. She pushed her way through the students until she reached a bench, where she sat down. Rin rummaged through her papers, quickly looking through them.

"Classroom 2A..." she mumbled to herself as she read her schedule.

It wasn't long before the halls became considerably vacant, and Rin assumed that it was almost time for class. She dropped her sweater and backpack off at her locker, grabbed her bookbag, and made her way to the classroom. When she got to her classroom, Rin realized that many of the kids were already there, chatting with each other. The teacher sat at her desk, working on some papers. When she looked up and saw Rin, she smiled.

"Welcome! You must be Rin Isami. You can take a seat over there and we will begin class in a few minutes, the teacher said and pointed to an empty desk at the front of the class.

Rin walked over to the desk she was assigned to and sat down. The students on either side of her were talking with their friends, and the boy behind her was reading a book. None of them looked particularly approachable at the moment, so Rin just sat quietly.

"Hello," the Isami heard a voice behind her speak.

Rin turned around to find that the boy had put away his book and was smiling at her.
