"Let her go."

Even in his worn down state, it was clear that Kyoya was not going to give up until he had Rin by his side. From her position on the floor, Rin watched as Kazuka stood up and turned around. She held her breath, hoping for a miracle.

"Ahh, so you are the one that we were unable to track down. Actually, I think I remember you from somewhere," Kazuki gave a brief smirk.

Kyoya didn't bother with introductions and cut straight to the point. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

"Give her back. I have my family's private police force on speed dial." Kyoya warned.

The Ootori might look like he was calm, but Rin knew that somewhere, deep down, he was panicking. She guessed that he had learned early on how to stay composed in these types of situations.

Kazuki, on the other hand, was simply amused by Kyoya's threat.

"Nice try. That would have been quite a strategy. Unfortunately for you, it might not work out."

Kyoya reached down to turn on his phone, only to find that it had completely shut down. There was a brief look of shock in his eyes, but he quickly hid it.

"Well, now that you're here, you could help me with my little plan. Since your family is so famous, it would be great if you could help get my word over to the media."

Amori continued his little speech, and Kyoya and Rin ended up zoning out. Rin watched as Kyoya slowly inched his way towards the wall, hoping not to be noticed. What was he doing? The Isami could only pray that he wouldn't leave. Who knows what would happen. She could be killed, or Kyoya could be killed. Or they both could be killed.

Once Kyoya could reach out his hand and touch the wall, he glanced at Kazuki Amori, who still seemed distracted by his speech. He quickly reached out and opened a compartment in the wall, which was seemingly invisible. Inside was a red button that Rin could barely read as the word "emergency". Before Kazuki could notice, Kyoya hit the button, and the alarm started roaring through the hotel.

Amori immediately turned towards Kyoya.

"What did you do?" he demanded.

"It's an emergency call to my family's private police force. If I were you I wouldn't try to disable it because it isn't possible, and they are also already on their way here." Kyoya replied smugly.

Kazuki's face distorted into a look of anger, and he lunged at Kyoya. The boy's eyes widened as the man threw his fists at him, but he could fairly easily dodge his hits. All Rin could do was sit on the floor and watch as Kyoya was being attacked by a ruthless killer. She wanted to scream something, to tell him to stop, but her lips betrayed her.

It became obvious that Kyoya was getting tired from continuously dodging punches and kicks. All it would take was one misstep and-

In the blink of an eye, Kyoya was on the ground. He was clutching his stomach, probably where he was hit. Rin gasped.

"Kyoya!" she cried.

Kyoya was about to tell her that he was fine when the door suddenly smashed open. It was Kyoya's police force! There were about 10 of them, most of which immediately began restraining Kazuki. The remaining police ran to over to aid Kyoya or begin untying the ropes around Rin's hands.

In a matter of minutes, Kazuki Amori was successfully restrained and was being pulled out of the room.

"You will regret this!" he warned before the door was shut behind him.

"Would you like any more help?" one of the policemen asked Kyoya after making sure he was ok.

"No thank you, we should be fine." he replied, and everyone else left the room.

Kyoya looked over at Rin who was examining her wrists. He got up and walked over to find that Rin's wrists were red and almost bleeding from the ropes.

"I'm so sorry." he whispered.

Rin pulled herself off of the ground and looked at the boy.

"It's not your fault," she stated. "I'm the one who should be sorry. He was only here because of me. And now you're hurt." she stared at Kyoya who still had his hand settled lightly on his stomach.

"Please don't worry about me. Let's get out of here. I'll lead you to the exit." Kyoya offered, and they both walked out of the resort together.

When they reached the gate, two cars were already parked to take them home. Before Rin got to her car, Kyoya spoke once more.

"Are you going to be ok?" he asked.

"Yes, you don't need to worry about me."

And with that, they were safe.

~2 days later~

Ouran Academy was as happy and cheerful as ever. In the field outside, the Host Club were playing a type of "commoner's game" that Tamaki had found out about. Despite the childish nature of the game, everyone seemed to be having fun. Even the two students who were sitting on a bench watching them.

"Rin, you aren't wearing your necklace," Kyoya observed.

Rin looked up from watching the game.

"Yeah. I decided that I want to have more to my life than grieving over my father all the time. The necklace is still important, but I finally feel comfortable without it." she explained.

Kyoya just smiled. A response was not needed in this situation. Instead, they both went back to watching Tamaki chase the twins around the schoolyard. When he glanced back at Rin, he noticed that she looked a bit distressed.

"Are you alright?" Kyoya asked.

"Yes, I'm fine... Can I talk to you for a minute?"

The two students walked farther away from the club, so they could chat in complete privacy. When they stopped at their destination, Rin began to speak.

"So, I know I've been a bother lately, with everything that's been going on. I was just wondering when, or if, you are going to make me leave?" she became quiet as she said the last part.

The Ootori didn't even try to hide his surprise. Did he do something to make her think that?

"No... I would never make you leave. Honestly, I thought you would have walked out by yourself by now." he said, his voice was genuine.

Rin smiled gently. "I would never leave you guys willingly. My whole life, I've lived alone. I never really cared about other people, except for my father. But now, I've found somewhere where I really feel at home, and I want to stay here for as long as I can."

"You can stay for as long as you would like."

Kyoya didn't hesitate to pull her into an embrace. Within a few seconds, Rin hugged back. In that moment, Rin decided that she never wanted to leave. All she could hope for was approval from the other members. Until then, at least she knew this.

"The job of an Ouran host is to make sure every girl is happy." At first, I thought this was just some silly advertisement. There are lots of people out there who will do anything for the people they love, though I never thought there would be people who would take in a lonely,  non-sociable new kid and make sure she was happy. But now that I'm with them, I've never been happier.
