chapter four

Jenna slipped into her homecoming dress and went to the bathroom. She curled her hair with 1 1/2 inch curls. She admired herself in the mirror and stepped into the lounge room upstairs. The group she was with were her cheerleaders. They all looked stunning.

"Picture time!" her parents shouted. The squad lined up on the stairs and smiled.

There was ten minutes left until the guys arrived. The girls did their last minute makeup check and took selfies for Instagram. Then the guys arrived.

"David, you look amazing." Jenna gushed. He was in a tux with a corsage on his jacket. They rode a limo all the way to the party.

The party was loud and hectic. Punch was all over the floor and wrappers of who knows what were littered along the dance floor. Jenna grabbed Davids arm and they started dancing.

"I don't know who's going to be homecoming royalty this year. Hopefully not Sarah." David whispered. Sarah was a very mean girl. She was pretty in all ways but inside it was a black void. Jenna saw Sarah on the stage, which also held the previous royalty's "thrones". Sarah smirked at Jenna.

"Ms. Royalty looks sad tonight." Jenna said to David.

"Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention." Mrs. Murphy, the principal, said.

"It is time to announce our this year homecoming royalty. Please come to the stage when you hear your name." she said. She started with the freshman. David looked at Jenna who smiled.

"Ryan Wilkes and Sarah Booth!" she called. Sarah looked gleeful. She smiled as the vice principal crowned them and draped their royalty signs on them. The principal then grabbed another name.

"And for Homecoming Queen and King, David Wong and Jenna Porter!" the whole crowd clapped. Sarah looked confused. She thought she was queen but Mrs. Murphy said she was princess. She shrugged and David and Jenna wore their crowns proudly.

They got to ride home on a convertible which they will be riding in the parade. David and Jenna sighed and hugged each other until they were home.
