Verse of the day: Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalm 34:14
Georgia tiredly yawned as she opened the door to her parents home. She had been staying here since they had arrived since she had not yet found a house she liked. She just didnt know why but she doubted she would be finding a house soon. No house seemed as wonderful as her cute home in the States.
She sighed and rubbed her head with the palm of her right hand. For how long will she keep on comparing her life here to her life in the States or all the men to Ryan in the States. If she continued this way, she would die a single woman. She needed to think of her future and get out of thus fantasy in her head of her and Ryan together.
Most people wouldn't understand why she had not stayed back. She had a life in Nigeria , she had abandoned because of parents plea for her to join them in the States. And she couldn't just abandon her life for a man when she was not even sure of their relationship. Sure, they had chemistry but what was chemistry without love. He was still scarred and it wouldn't be easy for him to come to accept his feelings for her. She understood that.
And he had a life back in the States just as she had one here. Too many people depended on him. He couldn't just leave them one day and set out to stay with her in Nigeria . his work was stressful as it was. Even with her as his personal assistant, he still had lots of things to handle on his own back then. And she thought billionaires had an easy life.
But she couldn't hide the stab of pain at the thought of him with a new personal assistant. Will she be going to his office every morning , to serve him coffee? or bring lunch from Rebecca's bakery and they'd both have lunch on his favourite couch in his office while they talked about anything but work? Or will he have a new woman in his life right now? Maybe one of those beautiful celebrities? Or a new woman in his bed every night? He had been a playboy before, right?
She had restrained herself from checking the media for info on him because wanting she had learned working for a celebrity was that that was the most unreliable source for real news about ones life. She had been in that position once with the Clarence incident. She checked her phone again in the four corners of her bedroom half expecting to see a sign that Ryan had contacted her.
Had he forgotten her already?
But even as the thought came up , she knew it was not true. She had not tried to contact him too, hoping that would help her forget him faster, maybe that was what he was doing.
But apart from that , she had been in close contact with all of them- emails, video calls, Facebook, phone calls.
She rubbed her tired eyes as she came downstairs for dinner later on that night. In the white nightie Ryan had bought for her in Fugstan. She smiled lovingly at her mum who was in the kitchen. Her dad should be home anytime from 10:00pm so it was her and her mom for the next few minutes.
She sat on the stool in her mum's kitchen.
Her kitchen was the only thing her mom had chosen the design for on her own without her dad. Smart man, her dad because if he had let her do the same to the rest of the house, they would be living in Barbie's dream house.
"Good evening, mummy.". She greeted with a grin.
Her mom briefly turned to stare at her with her own grin." Good evening my dear. How was work?" She asked before turning to stir the pot of vegetable soup.
Georgia shrugged." Okay."
Her mom turned to stare at her." It's that boss of yours, is it not?"
But she need not wait for an answer because it was written all over Georgia's face. She turned off the gas cooker and turned to face Georgia with the counter between them. "You love him, don't you? I've met him at church, he is a nice guy but are you sure his the right one for you?" Her mother continued to stare at her." Marriage is not just something you rush into and love is not just something you joke with.
I want what is best for you and I don't want to see you living your life in regret. This is something you need to pray about and think over."
Georgia nodded." I've thought about it and I'm still praying about it."
Her mother nodded pleased with her answer." Good. When you finally feel like you are sure about your decision, don't hesitate to act on it. If you are sure you love him, don't let anyone or anything hold you back. You have my support and your father's support whatever your decision may be." Her mom smiled at her. "Why don't you come and give me a hug."
Georgia smiled before standing up and going around the kitchen island to give her mum a hug. She smiled into the hug glad that her parents were supporting her. Somehow that made her choice seem less harder.
I personally don't like this chapter but I just thought I should post something since it had been a while since I last posted something. I have malaria and so I can't write much but I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
God bless
