'Welcome to NERV' those words continued to run through my head as I followed my father. "Where are we going?" I asked, my heart racing from excitement and nervousness. 'I wonder what it's like to fight an angel' I always thought. Suddenly coming to a stop, I looked at my father as he gestured to go forward into a dark room. "Here we are" He spoke, his voice echoing throughout the room. In a flash, the lights went on, revealing my father's old Eva.
"What are we doing here? We've already seen your Eva" I said before watching him walk to the next room over. To my surprise, it was one of the newest Eva models. "And this is all yours..." Shinji said as he lead me toward the Eva. I continued to stare at it in shock "Are you really letting me have this?" I asked. "Of course! You said one day you wanted to pilot an Eva" he reminded me with the happiest smile.
"Is there other pilots here?" I asked. My father replied with a slow nod. "In this generation, you are the Third Child, like me" He said before taking me up to the command deck. It was a lot larger than I thought, spacious, but somewhat crowded due to all the technology
Being brought into the room, I looked around and saw two other pilots bickering about something. One seemed to be calm and collective, while the other one was ranting and saying his mind. I stood there silently before looking up at my dad "What do I do...?" I asked.
"You know...you look like your mother" Shinji said before clapping his hands together to get the pilot's attentions. "Boys, you have a new recruit. Help her feel welcome, or I'll take care of the problem for my daughter". Once my father said "daughter", the two pilots looked at me, one of them stared at me blankly while the other just grimaced.
"I....uh...its...nice to meet...you...?" I managed to mumble out as I looked at the ground, my long blue hair hiding my face(image above). Suddenly, there was a large shake and the lights began to flicker. I was taken off balance and nearly hit the floor before one of the pilots took a running dive and caught me. The other pilot fell over, as did the workers around the area.
"You okay...?" He asked me as he slowly lifted me up and placed me on my feet. "I-Im fine....thank you..." I mumbled. The blue haired boy seemed nicer than he looks.
"Reimi! There's an Angel, time for you to get into gear. Boys, one of you go with her to protect her!" Shinji called out as a loud commotion began to spread. The blue haired boy nodded and ran to his Eva. I looked at my father before running to my Eva. "Tch...what a show off" mumbled the other pilot
Getting into the entry plug, I sat down and heaved a heavy sigh. 'Now filling Plug with LCL' suddenly, I was bombarded with a liquid that nearly made me throw up. 'Reimi, you think you can do this...?' Shinji asked over the intercom. "Yes, I was born ready" I said as the bindings were coming off. Suddenly, I was being lifted to the launching pad.
'Here we go...time to show those angels what I'm made Of'. Despite me being a newbie at piloting, I had a rush of adrenaline. "Eva-10, lift off!!"
