***TRIGGER WARNING TOWARDS THE END***
As I expected, from the time we were on the tour bus, I was surrounded by mayhem in the form of Mike, Jaime, Tony, and even Vic. I was amused just watching them wrestle for the bunks and deciding where to keep everything. I really didn’t care where I slept, I was still in awe of this whole thing.
After a few minutes, it seemed like everyone had figured everything out and stopped yelling. I cautiously walked back, but apparently not cautious enough.
My feet twisted in the handle of one of the guys’ duffle bag, and I nearly fell backwards, hitting my head-again- on the bunk behind me before Mike caught me.
"I caught you this time." He said before standing me up and walking out to the tv to set up what looked like an xbox. Vic came out just after, pulling me into the bunk I almost fell into.
The bunk was a lot more spacious than I expected, with both Vic and I able to comfortably fit in it.
"I claimed the biggest bunk for you and me before Jaime and Tony could." He smiled proudly, while I just laughed and pulled him close to me. "You know, I think the best part of this tour will be this. Being able to sleep with you every night with no objections from parents or whatever." I felt my face go hot, thinking of this morning and the things that could happen in this bunk.
The soft hum of the bus starting made Vic and I get up and walk out to the sitting area. Vic’s family was out there waving as the driver of the bus pulled out of the driveway, starting our journey across the country.
~~~~~
Two weeks had passed since opening night of the tour, and it’s like a dream come true. Traveling around with other bands and meeting people all over the country. Hearing stories about others who have been saved by music, much like myself. It was insane how many people I related with. Of course everyone flocked around Vic, as they all wanted to meet his new soul mate. It was a lot more attention than I was ever used to having, and they all grabbed at me. If Vic weren’t there to keep them away from me a little, I probably would have had a meltdown.We were in Michigan at this point, and I was a little on edge. At some point, I remember my mother telling me my father had moved to Michigan, where we used to live. The venue was about ten minutes away from the house I lived in until I was five. Right now, I was at All Time Low’s sound check, and there was about an hour before people would start coming in and two until the concert started. The traveling was seeming to take a toll on some of the guys. Alex, Vic, and Tony all had unexplainable severe migraines, while Mike and the guitarist from A Day To Remember had some type of stomach bug. They all needed medicine, but they weren’t allowed to leave the venue under the circumstances.
I suppose I could, though, with not having to perform in two hours.
I grabbed Vic, who was also watching All Time Low, and told him I was going to get medicine for them. He smiled in relief and told me to try and hurry. Thankfully, the security here was nice enough and gave me directions to a drugstore about five minutes away. I nearly ran the whole way. It took me a little to find what I was looking for, but eventually I was satisfied with two large bottles of both extra-strength migraine medicine and Pepto-Bismol.
Of course, while I was in the store, it had gotten dark and started raining. Not just any rain, but big, fat drops pounding on the ground in sheets. I was soaked in seconds. I ran back with the medicine under my jacket and made it back in exactly five and a half minutes. I nearly ran into security on my way back in.
"Hey, kid, got a ticket?"
I raised my eyebrows. “No, sir. I’m Kellin Quinn, Vic’s, um, soul mate?” He chuckled and rolled his eyes.
