VIC’S POV
No. No, no, no, this was not happening. I was not losing my love over Skype. “Kellin! Babe! No! Kellin!” A voice I recognized as my own shouted at the screen. I threw my phone on the passenger’s seat and focused all my energy on getting to the hospital as fast as humanely possible. It was difficult because a huge thunderstorm was pounding onto my car and tears would not stop falling from my eyes.
I was about ten minutes away when red and blue lights flashed behind me. “Fucking hell,” I muttered in exasperation. I pulled over and hoped the cop would be fast and understanding. I tried to compose before the cop, who seemed to be a woman not much older than me, reached my car and failed miserably.
"Are you okay, sir?" She asked cautiously.
"M-My soul m-mate. H-H-He’s the the hospital d-d-dy-" She cut me off.
"Of course. I’ll escort you there and we can work this out there." She yelled over a peal of thunder and ran to her car, racing ahead of me. We got there in half the time it would have taken me alone.
I pulled into a parking spot, not caring it was an illegal one, sprinting inside to the desk, getting soaked in the short time I was out there.
"Kellin Quinn?" I shouted in panic. The nurse was less than impressed with my appearance and attitude, but quite honestly the only thing I cared about was getting to Kellin.
"Are you related?" She asked in a slow monotone.
"His soul mate!" I responded immediately. She sighed before grabbing the book of patient listings. It seemed as if she was purposely taking her time to annoy me.
"Room 1313." I was gone before she finished saying the room number. I didn’t know where it was, but luckily I ran into Jesse before I had to worry about it.
He grabbed onto my arms as if he couldn’t stand without the support. “They won’t let me in. Only immediate family. Go.” He cried out. I could feel the pain the seeped every word of his, and I knew repeatedly rescuing Kellin from death took a huge toll on him. I tossed him my phone and told him to text my parents to come. He sat down in front of Kellin’s room where he refused to move from when I nearly fell into his room from going so fast.
I dropped onto my knees beside his cot, putting his hand in between my two. He was pale, and had lost another significant amount of weight. I had suspected he was starving himself before, as he only ever picked at his food and by the time he left me he had to have weighed at least ten pounds less than he had when I met him. That, mixed with the coma he’s been in the past three days, was not a good combination. Most of his bones protruded from himself, like his skin was too small to fit them all. The first thing he was doing when I got him out of here was going out for a buffet-style dinner.
He was cold, almost like he was already…no, don’t think like that.
"Mr. Fuentes?" I nurse asked from the doorway. I looked at her and gave her a gesture to continue. "Mr. Quinn has been in a coma since he’s gotten here. He nearly woke up a few hours ago, but something happened. We think he had a seizure, which is common in people who go into comas, even if only for a short time. We put him in an induced coma to calm him down, but with your permission, we think it would be most beneficial to wake him up now. I explained to the doctor the situation, with you being on tour and everything, and if we wake him up now, tomorrow we’ll have a psychiatrist come in to evaluate him, and if all goes well, We can release him the day after." I buried my head into Kellin’s side, relieved. I quickly said yes and signed the necessary papers, and the nurse told me to come back in half an hour and they would wake him up. I walked out of the room feeling significantly better than I had yesterday, but I was far from okay. Even when he woke up and I got him out of here, there was no guarantee he would come back with me or let anyone help him. I knew it would take everything I had to get him back, and I was more than prepared to give him everything he wanted as long as he would end up back in my arms with his lips on mine.
