The first thing I heard in the morning was sniffles coming from right behind me. I think it finally had hit him that I nearly died full force. I tapped his arms wrapped tightly around mine and turned so I was facing him. My heart shattered when I looked into his bloodshot eyes and I nearly started crying myself.
"Don’t cry; I’m not worth it." I told him, kissing his nose. I really wasn’t. We both knew I didn’t deserve him.
Vic’s face went from sad to furious in a matter of seconds. He moved so he was straddling me in a threatening way. Looking around, I saw gratefully we were the only ones in here. “You listen to me, Kellin Quinn-Bostwick. You are worth more to me than anything in the entire world. I will do anything for you. I know you love me, and believe me when I feel the exact same thing you do. It’s one of the perks of being your soul mate. We love each other forever, and we don’t leave each other. Which is why I’m not leaving until you promise to come back on tour with me and never leave me again. I can’t go through this ever again. It hurt me as much as it hurt you. I want to go on dates with you and have inside jokes and know every single detail about you and buy a house with you and make dinner together and tell each other our days and how much we missed each other. One day, maybe you’ll make me the happiest man alive by marrying me. We can adopt kids if you want and grow old together. I just want to have you for as long as I can.” He smashed his lips against mine as hard as he could. His hands wrapped around me to support my back and he pulled me closer. After a second, I put my hands on his hips and kissed back just as hard and passionately. He bit my lower lip playfully before pushing his tongue into my mouth. I pushed my hips up towards his and he let out a small moan. Smiling into the kiss, I did it again, a little harder, when Vic decided it was too much for him. He pulled back and went to lean against the door, panting heavily. “Do you believe me now?” I grimaced.
"Um, kind of?" I said shyly. He nodded.
"Better than not at all, I guess." There was a knock at the door and Vic moved out of the way. A nurse walked in with Jesse and Vic’s mom carrying a bouquet of flowers, sitting them on the bedside table. They both hugged me and asked me hundreds of questions. However, neither of them mentioned my attempt.
"We actually came in to see what you guys wanted for breakfast." Mamá said after she had finished 20 questions. I looked down, avoiding looking her in the eyes. I was finally starting to feel skinny, feel good about myself, and I didn’t want to get rid of that feeling. I felt Vic’s hand squeeze mine.
"Bacon and eggs for both of us." Vic replied for me. My hand quivered in his. He knew.
Thankfully, he didn’t say anything until we were left alone again. “Why won’t you eat?” He asked calmly. I rolled my eyes.
"Because."
"That’s not an answer."
"Because I’m fucking fat!" I shouted. I didn’t mean to snap, I just hate it when people talk about my eating habits.
He cupped a hand around my cheek with a sad expression on his face. “Babe, look at yourself. You’re skin and bones. I’m terrified of touching you because I don’t want to hurt you! You’ve got to be at least fifteen pounds lighter than you were when I met you!” 21, to be exact, but I wasn’t about to mention that to him. “You’re extremely underweight, and it’s dangerous. Please. Eat, I’m begging you.” I couldn’t say no to the face he pulled, and he knew it.
Jesse and mamá showed up in minutes, towing along a worried Sarah. Breakfast was spent talking to Vic about touring, so no one really noticed I have barely picked at my food minus Vic. He gave me a disapproving look when no one saw, and in the end I ate about a quarter of what was on the plate, which satisfied him enough for the time being.
