The Battle of Mewni had ended.
The demons were defeated. Only a few Mewnian casualties. Weapons of demons, monsters, and Mewni's citizens alike, sprawled across the once peaceful and beautiful barren lands of Mewni.
Matthew walked across this land. The land he once called home.
Mewni's tall castle was still seen standing, even if large part a of the exterior were forcibly blown to rubble. Heavily damaged, Matt knew he wouldn't want to walk back in there.
Ferguson and Alfonso went back to Toffee's castle. To get rid of the Cloning machine for good.
The rest of Mewni celebrated their victory. The King, well. . . Former King, was cheering songs of joy and victory. A song he didn't exactly know. But smiled at the happiness the people of Mewni showed.
As he was walking across the battle field, he knew some other battle was still going on. Somewhere.
Faint blasts and explosions coming from a far hill could be heard. Matt quickly noticed this.
Without hesitation, he checked the scene.
Only to see a smoke filled area. Full of craters, holes, and a pack of Narwhals rolling around here and there.
Then he heard shouting,
"Star! Don't do this! This isn't you!"
Marco!
He ran towards the voice, and saw the princess holding the wand at the demon, just before he saw a bright red light hurl towards the demon, and Marco jumping in front of them.
Out of nowhere, a portal cut behind her.
A lizard creature exited, revealing the once friend if the demon, now holding a sharp dagger. Ready to stab the girl in front of her.
And for an entire minute. . .
Everything stopped.
Matt saw everything in slow motion, the demon cowering in fear, Marco jumping in front of the blast, the sharp blade nearly touching the girl, and Star, her face completely etched with fear.
Then he noticed something inside Marco's hood sleeve. A shiny pair of dimensional scissors. Pulling them out in mid-air. Deflecting the bright ray of light toward Star.
Then he knew what he needed to do.
For a split second, Matt pounced against Star's side. Making them both tumble over. Just as the sharp blade had touched a cut a small part of his bag.
Then the adrenaline rush stopped. The blast had struck the lizard. Causing a huge gust of wind to push them away.
Marco stumbled across the burnt grass. Hearing a loud ringing in his left ear he stood up. Desperately trying to find the princess.
He found her. Lying a couple of feet away from a sharp dagger stabbed into the ground.
Along with her, he saw Matt nearly unconscious. He first helped him get back on his knees. Then got the injured girl and let her down. Checking for a pulse, he got nothing.
"Star!" He screamed in fear. Trying to find another heartbeat. . .
Nothing. . .
"No, no, no, please!" He pleaded for her to wake up. Checking again, Once more. Nothing.
"Star, Wake Up! Please! P-please!" Marco was tearing up and his voice was cracking as he said this. A group of her fellow people gathered around her. Crying helplessly.
