When Time Stood Still

Chapter 6

~Your pov.~

You whirled around to see who was behind you, careful not to trip over your feet. You looked around, but there seemed to be no one there but you...or so you thought. You sighed and rubbed the back of your neck, telling yourself that your just imagining things. However, you couldn't convince yourself that it was your imagination.

"I swear I heard someone's voice, they said it right in my ear." You sighed and let your hand drop down to your side. You looked around one more time before you felt a warm breath against the skin on your neck. You shivered as then a pair hands covered your (e/c) eyes, forcing you to close your eyes and tense up. A chuckle came from behind you and you could feel arms rest on your shoulders.

"Here I am (y/n)." They whispered into your ear, chuckling again as they saw you shiver. "Now no need to be afraid (y/n), I won't hurt you." They said in a more audible voice.

"C-Chara... What do you want with me?" You asked, standing as still as you could to avoid triggering anything. They chuckled again before removing their hands from your eyes, moving to stand in front of you before your eyes had time to open. You opened your eyes and blinked a few time before meeting Chara's ruby red eyes. They had their same grin on as usual, honestly nothing has really changed about them.

"My my, you're more serious then the last time you and I had met face to face. Was it my appearance when you were with that comedian-", you cut in before they could finish their sentence.
"His name is Sans, not comedian." You growled under your breath as you became defensive of your friend, glaring at the ruby eyed human in front of you. Chara's grin turned to a scowl and their eyed held anger and a bit of...jealousy? What the heck?

"Yes... Sans.. And his brother Papyrus..." There was a hint of annoyance in their voice, as if they wanted to avoid talking about the skeleton brothers. You were never good at detecting emotions, but you swore you could also hear some guilty too from them. That surprised you most of all. Not once have you seen any emotion other then annoyance and insanity from them. Now their expression was a mix of anger, annoyance and guilt. Why? You didn't understand.
"Hey are you listening?!" Chara snapped at you, clenching their fists in annoyance. You snapped out of you trance, not realizing you were staring at Chara while they were talking to you.

"Mm? Sorry I wasn't listening, could you repeat that?" You looked at Chara whose expression has soften. They sighed and just gave you a kind smile, placing their hand on your head.

"Never mind, it's not important." They said, gentle stroking your (h/l) (h/c) hair. Brushing a few strands that had fallen out of place to the side. You felt your cheeks heat up at the sudden gesture. It certainly wasn't something you expected them to do.
"You seem tired (y/n), why don't you rest a bit?" Their voice was soothing, calm and gentle. You eyes lids started closing, seems they were right that you were tired. They pulled you into a hug and laid your head on their shoulder, them being a bit taller then you kinda made it so your head was on their collarbone. You didn't mind though, you were too tired to care. Just before your eyes closed all the way Chara whispered something to you. You slightly smiled at what they told you as you fell asleep in their arms.

~time skip to when you wake up~

You slowly fluttered your eyes open, only to open them fully to see a room that was too familiar. You shot up from the bed and looked around. Yep, you were indeed back in sans room. You became utterly confused on how you got back here, and why was everything as it was before you left? Did Chara reset to the last save point? Was everything the same? You started having so many questions that didn't have answers, it started hurting your head even worse. You groaned in pain and placed a hand on your head, laying back down. After a few minutes your head stopped spinning and you looked at the ceiling.

"Was that all a dream?" You asked yourself before you heard the door open. Turning your head to look at the door you waited for the person to be visible. Once they were, it became pretty obvious.

"hey kiddo."
