~Sans's pov~

I still wasn't quite sure what had happened as of late. One moment I was looking for (Y/n), the next I'm back home coming to check on them. They must have gotten in a tight spot or something if they had to reset to the last save point. Though I kept getting the feeling they weren't the one who reset; like they weren't even in trouble. If they weren't in trouble then why was there a reset? Was it even them who reset? Is this something I have to worry about?

All these questions were rattling my skull, I didn't know what to think. All I know is that I'm glad the kid is safe. I gripped the door handle and slowly opened the door, revealing (Y/n) laying down with their arm covering their eyes. Couldn't blame them, they must be so confused as to what happened. I cleared my throat and they uncovered their eyes, looking over at me tiredly. I just smiled at the kid.

"Hey kiddo, how're you feeling?" I asked calmly while I walked over to my bed. Though they seemed reluctant to answer I just took it as 'I had a nightmare and I don't want to talk about it' kinda thing. Mentally sighing I just took that as my answer, I don't want to push the kid.

"Sans," I heard them say, "how did I get back here?" Honestly, I wasn't surprised by their question; I was caught off guard.

"Well kiddo, I'm not entirely sure myself. The most I do know is that things were reset to the last save point. I'm guessing that wasn't you then who reset?"

"No, it wasn't me...." Their sentence trailed off into silence. My concern for them grew dramatically within seconds. What was bothering the kid so much?

"I normally wouldn't pry into someone else's business but I gotta ask. What's bothering you, kid?"

I waited for a moment, only so be greeted by the silence once again. I sighed and looked at (Y/n), clearly concerned for them. "You know you can always talk to me kiddo, I'm always here for you." Again, I was greeted by silence. "I'll be downstairs, Papyrus made spaghetti for lunch if you wanna join. I can bring you a plate if you're not feeling up to walking." A simple nod was their response and I smiled slightly, at least they aren't being very distant to me. "Okay, I'll be back with your spaghetti." I tried to sound positive as I left the room to go downstairs, the sound of Papyrus attempting to whistle his theme song in the kitchen filled my none existent ears. I chuckled a bit and teleported there, being lazy as usual.

"Hey, Paps."

"Oh? Brother! How is the human doing?" He asked cheerfully. God how Papyrus can brighten up a room in seconds.

"They aren't feeling too good, so I'm gonna take their plate to them and let them eat in my room."

"Oh, that's a shame. I hope they feel better after eating my spaghetti!"

"Heh, you and me both Papyrus. You and me both." I smiled and got (Y/n) plate, teleporting back up to my room in fear of them not being there again. I should trust them more I know, but after last time I can't help but be on edge. To my relief, they were still there in my bed when I opened the door. Walking over to the bed, they sat up and looked at me. A gentle smile graced their lips as I drew near.

"Thanks, Sans." Their voice was soft and quite like a delicate flower, being blown gently in the wind.

"You're welcome kiddo." I smiled and patted their head. Setting the plate of spaghetti in their lap. "Don't eat too fast kid, I don't want you getting a stomach ache."

"Of course you don't, I'm sitting in your bed." They chuckled a bit and I just smiled.

While they ate we talked about places we'd like to go when we get to the surface. Honestly, I never knew they wanted to go to (choose a place). Seems there's a lot I still need to learn about them, and I mean a lot. Finishing their plate they set it on the floor next to the bed and laid back down in my bed.

"Thanks for bringing me my food Sans. Papyrus is getting really good at cooking."

"Welcome kid, and yeah he is. I better start learning how so that I can make good things like him."

"No, you're too lazy for that."

"I know." We both chuckled and grinned. It seems like it's been forever since I've seen them give a real smile. "Welp I better get going, Paps will wonder where I am." Just as I stood up and turned to leave they grabbed the sleeve of my sweater.

"Wait. Sans, please don't leave." I was confused by their request, but I nodded and sat back down.

"Okay kiddo, I won't leave. I'll be right here with you." That made them smile, but then they pulled me into the bed and hugged me.

"Thank you, Sans." I was still in shock about what just happened, but I gladly returned the hug.

"Welcome kiddo. I'll always be here for you." Holding them close to me made me feel somewhat safe and protective like I knew no one could harm us. This feeling stayed with me while we fell asleep, and I'm glad it did.

~20 minutes after you both fell asleep~

~Papyrus' pov~

It's been almost an hour since Sans went to give the human their food. I'm starting to get worried. What's taking Sans so long to come back down?

I was worried something happened to them so I went up to investigate. Going up the stairs things were quite peaceful really, almost like I had nothing to worry about. Walking over to Sans bedroom door I knocked three times and waited for an answer. When there was nothing for about three minutes I gripped the handle and opened the door.

"Sans? Is everything ok-?" I quickly cut myself off when I saw them asleep. Well, this explains a lot. Quietly chuckling to myself I left him and (Y/n) alone to sleep. They must be exhausted after today's events, I hope they both rest well.

Quietly I closed the door and went back downstairs to the kitchen, putting the leftover spaghetti away into the refrigerator as quietly as possible. I'll go to my room and make some more puzzles while they rest.

~Third person pov~

As Papyrus went to his room and closed the door, someone snuck into the house. Looking for someone, in particular, they went upstairs to Sans' room and quietly opened the door. What they saw angered them, jealousy quickly took them over when they saw how peaceful (Y/n) and Sans looked. Though for a moment they felt something other than anger and jealousy, they felt sadness. Sadness because they didn't want to loose (Y/n). They knew that resetting to the last save point was a bad idea, but they didn't want (Y/n) to be unhappy. They closed the door and just stood there, knowing that maybe the other human thought their encounter was nothing but a dream. They shook their head, refusing to give up.

"You may have won this time Sans, but I won't give up on them. You can count on it." They said and quickly left and quickly as they came.
