I gripped the knife in my hand and stood to face Undyne. To think, an old friend of mine would hurt a human. I guess I didn't know her as well as I thought.

She readied her spear and was about to charge at me, but I struck first. Though her armor was tough I easily tore through it as if it were a wet piece of paper. Her shock allowed me to knock her off her balance and kick her in the stomach. Just for safe measures, I rammed the knife into her leg so she couldn't get up. Some blood splattered onto my sweater but I didn't care, I was too lost.

She let out a gasp of pain, not being able to move her leg without causing severe pain throughout her entire body. The armor dented and hugged the injury, metal poking into her leg and abdomen making it painful to move. Even if she were to push through the pain she'd only make the injuries worse.

Raising my knife, I readied myself to strick her one more time. Just as I brought my knife down, something shot it out of my hand. Whatever it was burned my hand slightly, causing a stinging sensation.

"Chara what the name of Asgore are you doing?!"

He teleported in front of me and I jumped back slightly. His left eye flared a bright blue as a wisp of magic trailed off away from his skull. He grabbed my arm and yanked me away from Undyne, who was barely conscious.

"You should have gotten (Y/n) out of here instead of picking a fight with Undyne!"

"Well, maybe you should have been keeping your promise to my mom and protect them! You already failed to protect Frisk and look what happened!"

"What happened with Frisk wasn't my fault!"

"Like I believe that!"

I've had enough of this backstabbing skeleton and his false promises. He hasn't once tried to keep his promise with mom for either of the kids she asked him to protect! And he admits to wanting to kill them in the restaurant! Why did she even trust him?!

I yanked my arm out of Sans' grip and walked over to (Y/n). They were still unconscious, which is either good or bad. I picked them up and held them close. I still felt guilty for not getting here sooner.

"I'm sorry I'm late (Y/n)," I muttered, "it won't happen again I promise." I placed a kiss on their forehead and took a brief glance at Sans. He sighed and shook his head, trying not to show his concern, which he was failing at.

"Do what you have to do kid. I can't always keep an eye-socket out for them. I guess I'm trying to say... I'm counting on you Chara." He said, and with that, he teleported somewhere else.

I couldn't help but smile, knowing my old friend was still there. Still looking up to me or something like that.

"Don't worry Sans, you can count on me." I brought up the menu and selected the Continue button, sending everything back to the way they were when (y/n) last saved.

A/n: Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've updated this huh? I just want to apologize for not updating sooner. After March, my depression had gotten worse and I've been going through a lot lately. Family issues I wish I could talk about. But don't worry about me, I'll try to get another chapter out, and hopefully soon. Not sure if I'll be able to since we don't know the outcome of the voting tomorrow for Net Nutrality.

I know this chapter is short as well, I'm not in the full swing of things again yet. Well, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. This is Hopeless Dreemurr signing out till the next chapter. Bye.
