Chapter 3

Previously on Friendship or Love?

All I wanted was to celebrate my 6th birthday with my family and friends. I felt my eyes becoming heavier each second. I suddenly couldn't breathe properly and as much as I tried to keep my eyes open they just kept closing. I could hear what sounded like a ambulance in the distance and it kept getting louder. "I love you mommy and daddy. I'm sorry this was all my fault. Forgive me for whatever I did. I will always love you." I said in my last breath. Then, everything went black.

Elizabeth's P.O.V

             "Waaaaah" I heard a noise while I was playing in the sandbox. "Waaaaahh.....Waaaaaah" It kept getting louder. I went to find where the sound came from and saw a little girl crying. "Hey, why are you crying?" I asked the girl. The girl looked up at me and said. "I-I..lost my teddy. We were having a tea party and I-I went to go collect fruits. When I-I came back, my ted-teddy was gone. Mummy and daddy are always busy. Only Teddy plays with me. Teddy is my best friend." "Don't worry, I will help you find Teddy. Come on, let's go search together! You can tell me all about Teddy!" I replied. "Really?! You'll help me? Thank you!" She looked up at me and hugged me happily. "Of course, come on, let's not keep Teddy waiting. He must be scared." "Okay let's go! I will find you Teddy!" She called out to him. "My teddy has brown fur and a red heart on his tummy. Do you want to know how Teddy and I met?" She started off. "Of course! Did you meet at a party? Or did you travel all the way to Bearville? Do tell and don't leave anything out! " I replied. 

[A/N The itallic part is the little girl's flashback as she tells it to Elizabeth.]

               "No, Teddy was given to me by my mummy and daddy. One day, before they left for work they gave me him. They said, "Sorry babygirl, we have to go to work." "Please don't leave." I started to cry. "Sorry babygirl, we have to but we got you a friend!" That was when they showed me Teddy. "I don't want a friend, I want you!" "Teddy will keep you company while we're gone. We will see you tonight, okay darling? Be good. Love you!" They kissed my forehead and left. I threw Teddy on the floor. I didn't want to look at it. Later on, I picked it up and stared at it. Teddy was a new friend. It was the replacement of mummy and daddy while they are out. I hugged it and it did keep me company until mummy and daddy came home. "Ever since that day, Teddy and I have been on many adventures together. I love Teddy! What if I can't find him?" The little girl started crying again." "Hey, don't cry. We will find your teddy I just know it and if we don't find it today I will keep searching until we do." 

                   We searched and searched for the teddy but we couldn't find it. The little girl started to cry again. "Teddy doesn't l-love me anymore. He r-ran away...." "No, don't cry. I'm sure Teddy will come out. He loves-" I suddenly tripped over something and fell. It was covered with leaves. I picked it up and it was the little girl's teddy. "TEDDY!!!! You found him!! Thank you so much!" She hugged me tightly.  "I love you teddy! Don't ever leave me again!" "Thank you for helping me find Teddy! I will never forget you!" "Your welcome." I replied smiling.

            She smiled and skipped back to the direction of her tea party with Teddy. I went back to the sandbox and saw mommy and daddy. "Mommy, daddy!" I shouted while running to them. "Darling, there you are! We wondered where did you go. Let us know before you run off next time." "Sorry mummy and daddy. I went to help a girl find her teddy. She lost it and was crying." Then mummy said, "Oh, sweetie! Good job! We are so proud of you! Our little girl will grow up and change the world!" 

             Mummy and daddy bent down and gave me a big hug! As I let go I couldn't see mummy and daddy anymore. All I heard was mummy and daddy's voice saying "Goodbye honey, take good care of yourself. We love you!" repeatedly. Each time their voice kept getting softer until I couldn't hear them anymore.
"Mummy?! Daddy?! Where are you? Are we playing hide and seek?" "Mummy? Daddy? I don't want to play! MUMMY!! DADDY!! COME OUT! I LOSE, I DON'T WANT TO PLAY....I don't want to play....." Tears were dripping down my face. "Mummy, daddy please I don't want to play anymore! Come out! PLEASE!" 

        There were other people at the park. I ran to them asking them if they have seen my mummy and daddy or if they could help me but everytime I go near someone they disappear. Soon, I was the only one left in the park. I took of running hoping to find someone. Anyone....

               Suddenly, the sky turned dark. The sound of thunder appeared making me cry more. A storm was coming. "HELP ME! ANYONE?! Mummy!! Daddy!!" I  shouted but there was no reply. I couldn't see the other end of the park or in front of me. I was surrounded by darkness. I kept running but I didn't know where I'll end up. Suddenly, I fell to the ground. My knees were so pain. I felt like I couldn't move. Tears kept dropping. Suddenly, I heard someone say, "Elizabeth darling, wake up." It kept repeating and got louder each time. My head started to hurt. I kept hearing the same thing. "Elizabeth, wake up.""Elizabeth, wake up." "Elizabeth, wake up." My head was so pain making me scream. 

                 The sound stopped but my head was still spinning. I felt so dizzy that I fell to the ground.

  "Elizabeth?" I heard someone say. I opened my eyes. I looked around. This isn't my room. I looked around. Everything was white. I wanted to sit up but it hurt to do so. "Hello, darling! You're finally awake! Had a good sleep? You were out for pretty long." I was shocked. Who was that? I looked properly and saw a woman. She was standing next to my bed holding a board. I was very scared. Where was I? Who is she? How does she know my name? She helped me sit up in bed without it hurting and then said, "Do you need anything darling?" Scared, I just said the first thing that popped into my head. "W-Who are y-you?"
