Me, The Princess And The Queen

Chapter III - THE REACTION

The three of us keeps our eyes at the monitor, maybe not just us but the whole asia itself.

Prince xander curtsied first to the king and queen and bow to camera.

I felt that he's bowing to me and not everybody else.

Then the royal secretary comes into view with a scroll in his hands, it only meens that what ever is written in that scroll is an official annoucement from the king himself.

"Good evening you highness, good evening Asia, I have here, in this scroll my future and the future of entire Asia. So please help me doing this." Prince xander said before he opens the scroll.

"And I'm gonna read it verbatim or word for word" the prince explained.

"I, Alexandrei Marcus Santos burnham, Crow prince of Asia. With the Rights given to me by my Father in my birth, King Gaius Marcus burnham, I, official declare that..." He pause for a while. "That we are opening the search for the selection, it means a new Princess, a new Queen, and a a future wife for me." And with that everybody cheered again

"But there's going to be a big change for the selection.
first, all 15 years old upto 20 years old is entitled to join, thats the same as before, right?
Second, there's going to be no application, yes, you heared me right, the selection is now officially open but there is no application needed. I heared a question somewhere, jason go ahead,"

"How can they join if theres no application my prince?" Jason ask

"That's simple to answer jason, all of the eligible 15 to 20 years old are already in the selection"

"How does that happen my prince?

"Jason think..." That's the only answer prince xander said.

With a big eyes jason can't believe said, "your using the ABC my prince?"

"That's correct, I'm using the Asian Biometrix Census, so every eligible is already in. Easy right? To continue,
Third, since every eligible is in, we will monitor everything you do, going to do and have done, yes you heared me right again, its an automatic background check for all the candidate,
Fourth, since no one knows me, I'm personally meet all the potential princesses,"

"But my prince, that will be thousands of them,?" Jason asked

"You are wrong, it will be down to 35 before i met all of them."

"So you mean you'll gonna invite them when its already trimed to 35 like the traditional selection, my prince?"

"No, I'm gonna meet them in the street, in their school, in the work place,, almost anywhere i think of, but I assure you, you will not know that it is me."

And lastly Fifth, I'm only inviting 1 selected from the 35 to join me here in the palace"

"That's a good plan prince xander"

"No, it's a great plan jason, no one knows who i am, but i know them, if i do meet them, believe me, there will be no acting, just the true them. "

"So what advice can you give them?" Jason ask

"Just be your self and follow your guts" the prince said

And thats the end of the show.

I cant believe what i saw.
My mouth fell open hearing all that,
My mom just smile silently
My brother keeps pinching my cheeks knowing that I'm already in the selection and he just said "Rich, when you becomes the princess, don't you ever forget us, promise that please."

Without thinking I just said "yes, I promise"

When i realized what I've done, I said "wait, wait... First and foremost I have no intention at all to be the next princess, so i have no plans in joining".

"But you heard it right, all of you is already in the selection so there's no way to remove your name unless you have an access to the ABC system which i doubt u don't have, right" my brother said and i believe he's right

I look at mom but I didn't she any other reaction except for a smile.

"Mom, what will I do? I don't wanna join, I don't wanna be a princess or even a queen, I didn't dream of becoming a ruler of my own country" I said and my tears fall down my cheeks.

"There's a reason why your father gave you that name, maybe someday, when everybody heard your name everybody will fall into their knees." That's the first time that I heard mom talk about dad.
