My guarding angel, my mom !
Felt your love from my first breath
Priceless and precious
As constant as the sun and the moon

You taught me to talk and walk
You taught me what's right and what's wrong
Take it in your stride and move on
You cheered the loudest
No matter how small my achievements
You were the proudest
Your stories were the best
Your songs sweetest!

Your love was never hearts and flowers
It was always selflessness and sacrifice
Many a sleep you lost for my comfort
You gave up your dreams
So that I could pursue mine
When you were making sacrifices
You were sowing the seeds of generous mothering in me
I know I can never be like you
So I will try to be a reflection of you!

My guarding angel, my mom!
I tried to be your reflection,
But your mirror was so large,
I failed in the grandest fashion.

The love that you showered,
Was all priceless and pure,
But the love I could give,
Was just the last and lure.

You taught me to talk and walk,
You taught me what's right and wrong,
But I still stumbled on money,
Sang the corrupted song.

However small my achievements,
You always cheered the loudest,
But today, my big achievements,
Would make you the least proudest.

To give me the comfort,
Many a sleep you lost,
But I still had to change,
In this world moving fast.

You gave up your dreams,
So I could pursue mine,
I'm so sorry mom,
I didn't realise in time.

You must have been very sad,
In that old age home,
After all you had done,
I still left you alone.

But none of this matters,
You've gone too far now,
All I can do
Is respect you and bow.

I'm so sorry mom!
I tried to be your reflection,
Tried it with all my heart,
But this cruel selfish world,
Didn't allow me to start.
