Chapter 7: Second Show

Alina's pov

The second show was about to start and Henley and I just finished getting ready. " Henley I look beautiful!" I said to her as I look in the mirror. My hair was down with soft curls at the end. I had a red dress and black heels. I was super nervous for this show. Pilar had called and told me she was in the very front row. I stood up from where I was seated in front of the mirror and turned towards Henley. " Shall we be off then?" I asked in a mock accent. She swiftly nodded her head, Linked arms with me, and we were off. As we skip down the hallway we run into Daniel. He takes my wrist and puts a tracking bracelet on it then scans it.  I look at him confused. He looked at me then kissed my cheek. " You look gorgeous love." He said. I blushed and looked down. Jack then came around the corner. " Just checked the guest list and guess who is coming to the show." He asked. Daniel looked to me and shrugged. " Dray and Rhodes?" he guessed. " Yep, and Thaddeus Bradley." Jack said smiling. A look of concern crossed my face. " He was in Vegas as well. What are we supposed to do Danny?" I asked looking to him. He smiled and squeezed my hand gently. " Merritt and I were talking and he came up with the idea to let everyone in the audience record the show." Danny says. "Also we can debunk some of our easier tricks." Merritt says causing me to jump in surprise. Henley sees this and giggles. I playfully glare at her and look back to Daniel. " Awesome! I will inform the announcer about the changes." Jack says as he runs down the hallway. Daniel takes my hand and pulls me down the hall away from Henley and Merritt. " Henley backed out of the bubble trick and I need you to do it with me. Don't worry I  will catch you when you fall." I looked at him and nodded. " But if I get hurt I blame you." I said in a mock serious tone. He smiled and pecked my lips. I smiled as we made our way back to the others. When we got there Henley and Merritt were in deep conversation. " Pardon the intrusion." We all turn our heads to face the one and only Thaddeus Bradley. " Just wanted to wish you all luck tonight." He said with a sarcastic smile. "What so you can try and expose us on your little website?" Jack retorted. That kid literally comes out of no where. "And On Demand." Thaddeus replies with a smile. Henley and I scoff. " That isn't going to happen. Not in a million years." I say. This man was pissing me off. "I'm going to go prepare for the bubble trick." I told Daniel as I walked away. I was so nervous. 

It has been an hour since the show started and the bubble trick was coming up. Danny comes back stage and looks at me. " You ready for this?" he asked. I swallowed and quickly nodded. He looks me in the eyes and pecks my lips. " Don't worry. I won't ever let you fall." he promised. We then walked on stage together. Daniel started making bubbles with his hands while I mentally prepared for the stunt. Then he made one big enough for me to fit in. I ran and jumped into the bubble. I started floating to the top and I did flips and turns. I then noticed how close I was getting to the chandelier and I got scared. The bubble hit the chandelier and popped. As I fell I closed my eyes and screamed. I waited for the impact of the ground but it never came. I opened my eyes to see Daniel staring at me. " I told you I would never let you fall." I smiled and hugged him close. 

It was time for the finally and I was super excited. I ran backstage and got right on my computer. I entered the security answers for Arthur's bank account and started moving money into other accounts. I can hear Merritt talking about the balances of certain people we chose for the show. Then it was my turn to shine. I pressed the the enter button then waited for my  cue. When I heard it I ran on stage to see the excited audience and a pissed off Arthur. His ankle was handcuffed to the stage and I smirked. Danny grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the ropes. " We are the five horsemen and good night!" we yelled in unison. As we go up I hear the hypnotized audience members tackle Rhodes. I laugh as we run out of the theater. We split up and Danny and I run as fast as we can. Soon enough I hear footsteps behind me and I run faster. We come to a wall and I look down. Agent Dray comes into view and holds her gun up to us. I look at Danny with fear in my eyes. " Jump. Don't worry I will meet you down there." I looked at him one last time and jumped. I landed and looked back up only to hear a gun shot. Daniel jumps over the wall right before and we start to run again. We all meet up at the meeting point and grab a taxi back to the hotel.

When we got back everyone went to their rooms including me and Daniel. When we got into our shared room I looked at him and scowled. " Why are you giving me that look?" he asked with a confused expression on his face. " You could've died tonight. I don't know what I would've done if you did." I told him with tears in my eyes. He walked up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. " I'm sorry that I put you through that. I love you and your not going to lose me anytime soon okay? I will always be here." I looked into his eyes and kissed him with all the passion I could. He pulled me closer and deepened the kiss. I think you know what happened next.
