Chapter Eight

-- Ellie's Prov --

It had been a couple of days since I was called about my mum when I was at the beach with Josh. Josh had been so nice towards me and Dan, Josh stayed with me the whole time and he stayed with me at night so I wasn't alone. He just made me feel so safe and happy, I felt like nothing else mattered except him. My mum had woken up yesterday but she still was pretty out of it, she didn't remember much but they said she hit her head hard so they might have thought she had memory loss. Our dad has been sleeping at the hospital so mum wasn't on her own. She still had to stay another week in hospital to monitor her but she was going to be okay which was such a relief. The doctors said she was recovering pretty quickly but they still wanted to make sure she was okay, she kept saying she was okay loads of times so she could leave.

Dan decided we should probably go back home to California, I thought it too and so did the boys. Mum was fine and was in good hands with dad so I wasn't very worried about her. I was gonna call and text everyday to make sure they were okay.

It's good to be home. Me and Alex decided to stay at the boy's house for the night because it was 11:45 and we couldn't be bothered to go home, the boys were fine with Riley running around too! Alex obviously slept with Matt and I stayed in my room which I had before. When I got in bed, it felt weird because Josh wasn't there. I actually found myself not being able to sleep without him next to me.. Listening to his heart beat and him breathing, it gave me comfort. I wanted to see if he was still awake.

It's pretty weird sleeping without Ellie laid on me. For over a week I slept next to her to comfort her, she always cuddled up next to me with her head on my chest. I love her, I wanna tell her so much but I don't think it's the right time at the moment.

--Quiet Knock--

The door was slightly pushed open, I moved my eyes towards the door to see. Ellie peak around the corner

"You awake?" She said quietly.

"Yeah" I replied, she began walking towards me and sitting on my bed facing me.

"I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty weird not sleeping next to you" she whispered, looked down, with a fake giggle. I think she liked sleeping next to me, I'm not gonna lie either.. I liked it too.

"Come here" I whispered, laughing a little, with my arm out to put around her. She came towards me, smiling, and put her head on my shoulder and laid down next to me while I pulled a cover over us both. This just felt normal and right. Soon after we both drifted off to sleep.

I woke up and she was still sleeping, I didn't want to move because she was laid on me and I would wake her up. She looked so peaceful when she slept, so beautiful. I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, she buried her head into my chest with her hand on my side, tightly holding onto me. About 15minutes later, me just listening to her breathe, she woke up.

"Mhmm, what time is it?" She said yawning, pulling her head up from my chest looking at me.

"It's 9:50" I said looking at my phone, she put her head back on my chest and closed her eyes for a couple seconds then brought her head back up and her eyes met mine.

"We should probably get up.. But I could stay like this forever" she said, closing her eyes once more. I could stay like this forever too, it was so perfect. She eventually got up.

"Come on, we should get some breakfast" she said with a smiling, holding out her hands to get me up. I took her hands and she lead me downstairs to the kitchen, and we saw Max had made some breakfast and saw Chris talking to a girl. At first I couldn't figure out who it was then I remembered it was Jessie from the party.
