Rose watched with widened eyes. "Grovyle! G-Grovyle!"

Grovyle looked back at her, "I'm sorry, Rose... But Dusknoir... I must."

Rose felt her eyes watering, "But- But partner!" Rose paused. It wasn't the first time she had directly called Grovyle "partner," but it still made her stomach turn, and her heart... "I- I've lost you once... I-I don't want to lose you again."

"I know. Me neither," Grovyle admitted. Rose then saw his eyes were starting to water as well, "We probably might not see each other again, but... Take this!"

He took something, and threw it at Rose. Rose caught it, and looked it over. It was a bag, and when Rose looked inside it, she found the Time Gears they had collected before making it to the Hidden Land. She looked up at her old partner, and she could hardly choke out her words, "G-Grovyle..."

"Though the parting hurts... The rest is in your hands," Grovyle said, and he gave one final shove to Dusknoir. They both fell into the Dimensional Hole... And they were gone.

Rose then fell to her knees, and started to sob. Sob, really hard.

"I finally found the right angle to put in the Key-" Rose heard Jet's voice, but it seemed far away. Then she heard pattering as Jet ran over to her, "Rose! What happened? Are you okay?!" She looked up into her partner's eyes.

Jet's eyes were of concern, shock, and confusion. "What's wrong? What happened, Rose?"

Rose could hardly speak, or hold back another set of sobbing, "T-The good news is... Is... Dusknoir won't bother us... Anymore... Dusknoir's gone..."

Jet looked around him, "Dusknoir's gone, that's awesome... But... What's the bad news...?" When he took one last look at the bag she had in her lap, along with the empty clearing, Jet could have already guessed.

"The bad news... The bad news is... So... So... So is Grovyle," Rose managed to stutter.

Jet froze in place. "No... Not... Not..." Then he fell down into a sobbing mess. Seeing Jet cry made a fresh set of tears in Rose start. My... My old partner. He's gone! He's gone... What will I do without him? I don't know if Jet can carry on like that... Soon we'll both be hopeless... What will we do without Grovyle?

...

After they had cried out all their tears, Rose felt a new wave of determination wash over her. She stood up, and slung the bag over her shoulder. "I'm ready. Ready to take on Primal Dialga. For the Pokemon. For... For Grovyle."

Jet sat up, "Me too."

They ran over to the bridge, which was starting to lift up. They got onto it, and Rose breathed in awe as the bridge started to fly. She had gotten braver. Even if she had lost a friend, she'll fight with all her strength, for him.

...

They got off, and looked up at the Temporal Tower.

"It's just the two of us now. Are you ready?"

"Yes, I'm ready."

"Then let's go in."

They sprinted inside Temporal Tower's doors, ready for what might be behind them.

...

"This way!"

"That's not good!"

"What did you do now, Jet?"

"Whatever I did, it definitely wasn't good!"

"Keep going, Jet, we'll be fine. We are going to get up to the top, beat Primal Dialga, and save the Pokemon World! For Pokemon! For... For Grovyle."

"You don't have to tell me twice."

...

They stumbled to the top, and stared at what they saw. It was yet another ruin, but somebody was waiting for them at the top. Jet gasped, and Rose knew exactly what Pokemon had just roared. The ground shook. Rose and Jet looked at each other, as Primal Dialga towered over them, and roared again. This was what they had been waiting for. This was the moment that Rose was awaited, throughout their journey, getting stuck in the Future, coming back to the present, getting the Time Gears, soaring through the Sea of Time, getting through Hidden Land and Hidden Highland, this was what Rose had in the back of her mind. Now, it was turning into reality. Now, Rose was staring up at Primal Dialga himself, and was about to fight him. She had never thought up of a battle cry before, when they were traveling to Temporal Tower. But now, after what happened back at the Bridge, t had been something that Rose had repeated several times already. She looked at Jet, then asked, "Are you ready?"

"Yes, I'm ready. I'm more than ready."

"Alright then. No turning back now. No turning back a long time ago, actually. Now... We're doing this... We're doing this for Pokemon..." Rose then felt a strong feeling to yell it at the top of her lungs. Jet must've had it too, because they both yelled with all the strength they could muster.

"FOR POKEMON! FOR TREASURE TOWN! FOR... FOR GROVYLE!"

And with that, the two both charged into battle.
