In the morning, I got myself dress and headed to the meeting at Soul Co. The meet was from 11pm - 1pm. Zari was first to greet me and handed me my pamphlet for all I needed to know but the funny part was I didnt need to know anything, the book was mainly asking my clothes and shoes sizes and my likes and dislikes. I paused at the lobby filling some in and reading the rest off, Zari stopped in came towards leaning next to me.
"Hey you okay?", she smiled.
"Yea Im good, just a little shocked by the way things are here", I chuckled."
"Pretty different from Fortune huh?".
"Waaay different but a good different".
We smiled.
She patted my back and signaled for me to follow her. We hit a elevator and then we were at the 4th floor. Getting off into the hallway there were at least 7 males talking and drinking coffee, I smiled softly at them in they all waved and greeted me. I was so caught off, the men at Fortune wanted nothing to do with me. It felt good to be accepted. We finally entered a room with an oval table in a couple of people who looked very important greeted us. I sat down in listened to the elderly guy who was in front giving a speech.
"And now that our best man is here, I can get to the important part. Fortune has been our enemy for 12 years. We only been beaten a lot on account of Dustin being there right hand man but now THEY LET HIM GO!!! LEFT HIM FOR DEAD!!! LEFT HIM WITHOUT A CARE!!! We at Soul Co. will take great care of him! Your are secret weapon Dustin and when the run way competition starts, we will crush Connie's hopes and dreams!!!".
All the people nodded their heads and cheered the guy on. I smiled at the enthusiasm they had. Zari patted my forearm and smiled and after he was done speaking, and we handed in some paper work, we were able to leave. I was headed to the exit when Zari stopped me.
"Hey hold up!", she bent over catching her breath, "Your fast on your feet I see".
I laughed, "Well I'm just excited, its crazy how much attention I get here and the guys are friendly as hell".
She laughed shaking her head.
"You'll be fine boy, just be you, that's all we ask here, we love our models being comfortable".
I smiled. "Thanks".
"Also the run way is coming up and I m pretty sure you and ol miss thing will be competing against each other so don't go soft on her Dustin, its obvious that you have a crush on her", she smiled hard.
I didnt return a smile, I just took in her words.
"Well ima get going, see you later and thanks again".
She nodded and I headed out. As I got in my car, I called Angela up, she answered on the first ring.
"Heeeey you, how'd your date with Noel go?".
I paused. Really is that how she wanted to start this conversation. I shook my head driving into the busy streets.
"Uh hold on Ang' let me put you on speaker, I'm leaving a meeting".
She was silent.
"Okay....hey..you there?".
"Yea Im here, so how was your date?".
"Look, I'm not talking about Noel right now, but I was wondering if you'd come by tonight around 8 for a dinner, I still owe you an apology remember?".
She was silent then spoke.
" Sure, I'll be there".
I smiled. "Cool see you later and come hungry".
We hung up at the time I made it to my crib, which was 2:15pm. I rushed in an took out the steaks and shrimp to let them thaw out. While that happened, I took some seasons out and a salad, I cleaned that up in piled it in a bowl. I added salt and pepper and tossed it around. Around 3:36pm I took the shrimp in sauteed it on the stove with onions. I cooked that for awhile than tossed it into the salad. I made mashed potatoes for my side dish and tossed the steaks on the stove around 4:17pm. As that cooked I called in ordered some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. They arrived at 5:13pm. As everything fell into place, I set the table with scented candles of vanilla. I placed the food there in the dessert. It looked perfect. I dimmed the lights and played classical music. It was now 6:36pm so I ran upstairs in got myself dress. I was looking sharp. Time was now 7:54pm when my doorbell rang.
I opened it to see long legs glistening in a black dress. Then they turned around standing there with flowers in a card.
"Uhhh Noel?!".
She smiled in let herself inside.
I could barely speak. I swore it was a hallucination.
I looked around in exhaled deep.
"Wha wha what are you doing here?".
She smiled.
"Ohh were you expecting someone, dinner looks great!".
"Yes I am and you really should be leaving".
"Well hold on", she stopped me from pushing her out the door, "at least take your flowers and read this".
I sighed and grabbed the card.
It read {Dear Dustin, thank you for still dealing with me after so much, I know I've been a real bitch and don't deserve a great guy like you in my life but I just needed you to know that I'm truly sorry for what happen at the hospital and for trying to kill you... I hope you can forgive me.. love your first love}
I sighed staring at her, I must of reread the last sentence over in over. Noel has been with me from the start and to have all this shit happen was just surreal. She smiled in nodded as she saw me let off a smile then she headed to the door, I followed.
"Are you still with Jay?".
she stopped holding onto the door knob.
"No, no I am not".
I sighed, " Well thanks for the card, I guess I'll try to forgive you".
She grinned, "Its okay Dustin, in due time".
I nodded in she left. Good thing Angela arrived late due to car trouble, but once she came, she was in awe to the set up I made. She couldn't stop smiling and neither could I, we ate in had a great time it was like we were meant to be but I knew it was something I wanted and she wasn't ready for because each time I tried to kiss her she would shyly move back in giggle so I gave up and after dessert and wine she felt she should leave, I didnt stop her, just let her go. After that I cleaned up in headed to bed. I thought alot and I felt have of me wanting to give up but I couldn't let her go, not until I knew if she felt the same way.
I was sure going to get my answer.
