Arin and Jon held hands.
They sat next to each other at their first time at the LGBTQ+ club.
Arin was told that he should go the club by Ross, who sat next to him in English and liked to draw too. They were listening a friend of Ross's, Barry.
Arin raised his hand and Barry pointed to him. "Yes?"
Arin removed his hand from Jon's and scribbled on the white board they provided him, showing it to Barry afterwards. How can you tell you like someone? Jon gave him a weird look he didn't see.
Barry thought for a few moments, casting a quick glance to the side, where Ross was sitting. "You just, know, I guess. You don't stop thinking about them, always worrying about them and constantly wanting to be with them. Your favorite time of the day is with them, answer your question?"
Arin nodded, in thought. Does he always think of Dan? Of anyone?
Arin realizes his mind automatically went to Dan first, that has to mean something.
Arin stared down at his hands, unaware of what to say or do.
Did he like Dan?
Arin remembers the flood of emotions that came over him as he saw Dan kiss that boy. He thought that meant he wanted to kiss the stranger, Jon. Is that what that meant?
Arin saw the group disperse and stood up, tapping Barry and showing him the message he quickly wrote on the white board. Can I talk to you?
Barry nodded to Ross and Ross walked off from their conversation they were having, he brought Arin to a corner of the room and they sat down on the floor. Arin showed Barry his question, I don't know if I like someone or not.
Barry pointed his finger over to Jon who was talking to the other people of the club. "Don't you have Jon?"
I think I might like someone else.
Barry nodded, thinking for a few moments. "Can you tell me about them?"
Arin nodded. He has a beautiful mass of hair upon his head. He has happy brown eyes that alway sparkle as he talks about something he loves. He has an amazing voice, despite being deaf. He doesn't like to listen. Arin stopped writing as he ran out of room.
Barry smirked at Arin. "Seems like you have it hard."
Arin gave a weak smile and was stopped from asking any more questions as Jon came over. "Time to go, babe." Arin waved goodbye and held hands with Jon and got inside his car.
Jon put the key in and turned it, the car not turning on. He tried several more times, failing each time. He groaned and laid his head against the steering wheel. "Looks like the car doesn't work."
Ross, who saw them in the car, chose this moment to come over and knock on the window. Arin opened the door and gave them a look (Barry being behind Ross).
"It's looks like it's going to rain, can we get a ride?" Ross pointed to the sky, rare gray clouds covering everything.
Jon kept his head down on the steering wheel. "Well, it looks like we can walk together. The car is dead."
Arin suddenly got an idea and opened up his phone, showing Dan's contact to Jon and holding his fingers against his head to look like a phone. He can call Dan and ask for a ride. Jon just shrugged, "Might as well give it a try."
Arin hit the FaceTime button and propped up his phone on his dash board. Dan answered quickly. Hello. I don't have my hearing aids on by the way.
Arin waved to him. I'm sorry to bother you, but can you pick us up from school? We had a club meeting and Jon's car broke down.
Dan nodded, not even taking a second to think about his answer.
Oh and we have two friends who need a ride too, Ross and Barry.
Dan nodded. I'll be right there.
The four of them sat in Jon's car, waiting for twenty minutes before Dan drove up in a van. By then, it had started to rain.
They all hopped in, Ross and Barry in the middle and Jon and Arin in the back.
"Oh, hello Barry!" Dan said as he saw the familiar face. "You finally get to see me not high!" Barry laughed and Ross gave him a weird look.
"You've seen him before?"
"I heard him sing before he was Danny Sexbang." Barry stuck his tongue out at Ross.
"Guys check this out." Dan held above his head a CD, by the band of Ninja Sex Party. "You people can be the first to listen to this shit." Dan popped the CD in and sang along, the others dissolving into their own conversations (although Barry spent most of his time watching the rain).
Arin leaned on his arm that was on the arm rest, staring out the window. Jon set a hand on his thigh and Arin turned his head to face him.
Jon leaned close to him. "We are in the back of the van."
Arin leaned away, as far as he can against he window. He moved Jon's hand away from his leg. I don't want to right now. He was still thinking about what Barry had said earlier.
Jon didn't understand him and put his hand back on Arin's leg and scooted over, bringing his lips forward and onto Arin's neck.
Dan saw him and adjusted his mirror to watch them as he drove.
Arin grimaced and pushed at Jon, Jon not moving. Arin shook his head and twisted, trying to get Jon off.
"Hey!" Dan said with such authority that many teachers would be jealous off that made everyone shut up. Jon jumped away from Arin and met Dan's eyes in the mirror. "He said no."
"How do you know?" Jon spat out, "he can't talk."
Dan pulled over the car immediately and got out, going over to the door by Jon's seat and pulling him out. He pushed him against the side of the van, rain soaking them both quickly. "I know three languages; English, sign language, and kicking ass. Which one would you like me to speak right now?"
Jon pushed Dan off of him and straightened his clothes. "He's my boyfriend. I think I know what he wants."
"True." Dan pulled his wet hair back in a bun to get it out of his face. "But he's my friend." Dan turned to Arin, who was watching through the window. "Arin, you're sitting up by me."
Arin scrambled up to the front seat and Jon back to the back. The car was put into a silence as they continued to drive on.
"My parents are gone." Dan announced to the car as they arrived at his house. "Let's have a motherfucking sleepover."
