________

This was it. Years if terror and overlooming fear had vanished with tbe swipe of Eren's swords, the last titan had been killed. Every single titan was dead. The strays wandering outside the walls, the titan shifters - he killed his *friends*-, the titans in the walls. All of them.

There were losses. Oh, were there losses. Hundreds of soldiers (hundreds too many) sacrificed their lives for the sake of their enemies extinction. Eren's friends among the statistics. He could remember how they died, all those years ago.

Armin never got to see his ocean, and died with his face being crushed into the ground by a titan foot. Mikasa died, ironically, leaving Eren's side, finally deciding Eren was good on his own. Jean died after being trampled by his startled horse, and a titan finding him injured and sliding the body down his throat. The last death Eren cared to remember was Levi's. The short man had perished after being swatted out of the air like a fly.

All of his friends were dead. All of the titans were gone. Society was in shambles from the constant supplying of money and people for their mission. It would probably fail soon, people splitting into seperate communities, starting over. As if the titans never existed. And soon, the word 'titan' would die out.

Eren glanced down at his blade. It was destined for killing titans. That's all it was living for, just like Eren- eliminating them. All of them, any traces needed to be gone. Including...Eren.

He pulled the sword from his sheath, and looked at his reflection. All he saw was the face of a titan. A grotesque, murderous creature. Not the face of someone who had saved humanity. A monster.

Eren positioned the sword point towards his chest, arms outstretched, and then looked at the grass of the prairies before him. The color was a complement to all of the blood from the titans, and a relieving sight for him.

Then he looked to the sky, eyes wide, and a grin on his face. He was going to do it. All of the titans were- soon to be- gone, and all of the world wouldn't have to live in fear of them again. Eren took the breath, the breath of a laugh full of relief, and plunged the sword into the monster he was.
