Levi had been bugging Eren to take him camping for weeks. Nagging, constantly catching his attention with items they'd need. Walking in a store with Levi was becoming stressful because of the persistant asking. Also the sudden realization that someone had put waterbottles or marshmallows in the shopping cart under Eren's nose.

Levi was ready to go the minute Eren finally broke and agreed they would go camping. Eren walked around leisurely, gathering some stray clothes and blankets that they would need. Levi began to get impatient, and got the tent and food packed and ready. He wasn't sure how long they'd be gone, but the better prepared he was, the better the chance they could stay out longer.

"Levi, where are we staying?" Eren asked, zipping up a light beige backpack.

Levi shrugged. "Mikasa has land,"

Eren frowned lightly. "Do you think she'll be okay with it? It's kind of short notice,"

"I called her last week," Levi admitted, picking up a cloth bag full of junk food and snacks. "She said it was fine."

Eren sighed and grabbed his and Levi's bags and walked out to the car with his best friend. Levi already had the tent and supplies like bug spray and sunscreen in the car already. He really did count on Eren giving in.

"Eerreenn," Levi called flatly, sounding very unamused. "I need a stake,"

Eren crawled over to where Levi was on the ground, holding a corner of the nearly completed tent down to the grassy earth. He handed over a small, steel stake and watched as Levi put both palms on the end and pushed down with all of his body weight.

Eren laughed lighty. "Do you want me to do it?"

Levi looked over to Eren, anger shooting from his eyes. He looked back down at the stake, hair hanging over his forehead, and pushed down, the stake going into the ground. He looked over to Eren triumphantly, and then ordered the brunet to go get the sleeping supplies.

He returned shortly with arms full of quilts, comforters, and pillows and waited as Levi opened the zipped door. Eren threw everything in, and moved out of the way as Levi crawled in.

He silently organized the blankets and pillows according to whose was whose and put them on either side. When he was done he called Eren in. It was a small tent, meant to fit maybe an inflatable double bed at the most.

Eren plopped down on his bed, laying on his side, and smiled with his eyes closed. Levi pushed his shoulder gently and Eren opened his eyes. Levi crawled out of the tent, staining his grey sweatpants with the green of the grass slightly.

When it came to just after dark, which wasn't long after they had the tent set up, Levi started crafting a fire. Soon enough there was a good-sized fire going at an angle between the vehicle and the tent. Eren had taken a nap in the tent, most likely on top of the blankets, and woke up from the cold. Although it was June, the nights were still fairly cool.

He crawled out with a fleece blanket wrapped around his shoulders, and his hair messed up from the sleep.

Eren greeted Levi with a yawn and went to sit next to him in front of the fire. To Levi's right was the bag of food, and Levi had already gathered sticks for roasting marshmallows. Eren smiled sleepily as he took a stick from Levi, marshmallow already on the end, and stuck it above the flames.

"Oi, Eren," Levi said, poking his friend's shoulder. Eren looked over questioningly. "Can you give me some of that blanket?"

Eren nodded and pulled part of the fleece over Levi's shoulder, wrapping his arm around his friend's shoulder shortly before pulling away.

"Sorry," Eren mumbled, turning his marshmallow.

"No, thank you," Levi grunted. But quickly he added, "For the blanket, I mean."

There was an awkward silence until Eren pulled the stick towards him. He pulled it off lightly, and then squished it lighty to be sure it was cooked all the way. Locking eyes with Levi, he raised his eyebrows questioningly, offering it. Levi opened his mouth, and Eren rolled his eyes as he popped it into Levi's mouth.

Levi ate it quickly, and grabbed another marshmallow for Eren and one for himself. They roasted their snacks for a while longer, Levi occassionally pointing out stars and constellations he knew. After an hour of this, the boys green eyes became shaded with his droopy eyelids.

"You just took a nap," Levi stated with a hint of amusement in his voice. He couldn't blame him though; the warmth of the fire, Eren, and the food had made him tired.

Eren shrugged. "I'm tired,"

Levi sighed and unwrapped the blanket from his shoulders and tucked it around Eren. "Go in the tent and sleep, I'll get everything taken care of,"

Eren nodded and went into the tent, and Levi clenched his teeth from the cold.

He extinguished the fire, locked the car door, and rushed into the tent, shining the small flashlight he had in his pocket inside. Eren was curled up already, looking like he was about asleep, and very warm. Levi zipped up the tent behind him, and put the flashlight in his mouth as he used his hands to pull up the blankets and slide himself in the cool softness. They'd warm up soon.

Levi turned off the flashlight and closed his eyes. Eren's light breathing was a bit of a bother at first, but it reminded him that he was there with him. Soon, the two were both sleeping soundly with the sound of crickets and each other to lull them there.
