Aimera's laughter rang throughout the small apartment. She was hanging out with Kara and Winn. Kara was a superhero. Winn was an IT agent. Aimera was a nature photographer. It had been 12 years since Superman had found her. 12 years since she had woken up, surrounded in ice and freezing to death.

Aimera was, like Kara and Kal-El, a Kryptonian. She was only four years younger than Kara when the three of them were sent off of Krypton to Earth. Kal-El had touched on Earth almost immediately. He had landed in a field in Kansas. Kara had drifted off into a deep part of space where time didn't pass. As for Aimera, she had landed in the coldest part of the world, in the middle of the coldest winter. Her pod and her body had been frozen, both in time and condition. Superman had found her just two months after Kara landed on Earth. After finding the young Aimera in a block of ice, Kal-El left her to live with his human family in Kansas. After twelve years of living with the Kents, Aimera was now twenty one and lived in National City.

"Sometimes you make me wish that I was still freezing in that iceberg!" Aimera laughed once more.

Winn would not let go of the idea of Aimera helping Kara by becoming a superhero. Kara had officially become Supergirl only a few days ago, but people were already buzzing with excitement at having a superhero.

"Aimes, I'm serious! It would be so cool." Winn said, geeking out.

"He's got a point. It would be pretty cool." Kara smirked.

Aimera smiled warmly at her friends' antics. Kara's phone went off in the other room. It was faint, but was audible to the two girls with superhuman hearing.

Kara sped over to where the phone was and came back with it to her hand.

Aimera noticed how Winn started at the blonde Kryptonian. She rolled her eyes. Kara was oblivious to Winn's affections. He wasn't good at hiding it.

Fortunately, Aimera was. Homosexuality wasn't really a thing back on Krypton. After spending sixteen years on Earth, Aimera had gone to high school and college here, getting her degree in photography. She had a few boyfriends in college, but they never appealed to her. After kissing a girl on a drunken dare, she was positive that she was, in fact, gay. And the only girl she was interested in was Kara.

Kara apologized, stating that Ms. Grant needed her at the office. Aimera scoffed. The second she had graduated top of my class, Kara had taken her to meet the woman, attempting to get her fellow Kryptonian a job as a photographer working for Cat Co. It didn't take long for the brunette to give an adamant 'no', and leave the building.

Aimera was happily taking pictures on her own, sometimes doing photography for celebrities or for couples. It was hard for homosexual couples to get photographers in National City to take pictures of them together, so they went to Aimera. Most people generally prefered to come to her, anyways. Most of the photographers for hire were snobby.

Winn had continued to talk to the other girl for a few minutes after Kara had left. He continued to argue for the point of Aimera becoming a superhero. Her phone buzzed, and she looked down to see a text from Kal-El. Or Clark, as you may know him. Since Aimera grew up with the same Earth family as Kal-El, she saw him a lot more growing up. They were close. So close that he was the only one that knew her secret. Her sexual preference. Not her crush on Kara. He didn't care, he said he loved her anyways.

She apologized to Winn, saying it was important, and left the building.

After walking a couple blocks, Aimera turned into an alleyway and pulled her beanie over her hair. She bulleted into the air, flying towards her destination. Metropolis.
