P.O.V. Adelaide.
*the next month.*
"Mark!" I scream. He runs into the dining room. I haven't fully healed yet, I'm limping bad and it still hurts like a fucker."I think I got a signal." I say. He takes the walkie.
"Hello?" He asks.
"Who...this..." It sounds.
"Mary, is this you?" Mark asks.
"M-rk?" It sounds again.
"Mary?" Mark asks. Nothing.
"Mary!?" Mark asks again.
"Shit." He says. I sigh.
"You wanna go outside for a while?" He asks. I nod. He wraps his arm around my waist and I wrap mine around his neck. He helps me stand up and we walk outside. We sit on the swinging chair (is that what they're called?) and I can finally see what this place looks like.
"That's a wall right there." I say. Mark sighs.
"They're all so kind here, at first it seemed like something had to be wrong, there is, some of these people have never been outside, moat here don't even know how to fight. I talked to the owner and made clear that I wanted to hold onto my weapons, she finay agreed, yours are in the closet, figured you wouldn't really need them right now." He says. I nod.
"I know about you and Jack, you must miss him a lot." He says. He turns to me. I look down at my feet.
"All I wanna do is curl up and cry, I miss him so bad, I haven't slept for so long, I'm tired but I just can't." I say. Mark wraps an arm around me.
"We'll find them." He says. I nod.
"I don't doubt it." A gunshot makes me look up.
"What was that?" I ask.
"It was probably nothing." He says.
"What if it where the others?" I ask. Mark looks up.
"Then they'll be here soon, I'm gonna grab something to drink, you want something?" He asks. I nod.
"Water please." I say as I keep my eyes focused on the gate. Mark walks in. After a few minutes the gate opens. Two guys carry another one inside and a blonde girl follows. I recognize them immediately.
"Mark!" I scream. I get up and start running, ignoring the pain in my side.
"MARK!" I scream again. He and the other ruah towards me. Mary notices us first. She runs up to Ken and he hugs her tight. Matt and Ryan share an awkward hug and my world stops.
"Jack..." I whisper. I go stand infront of him. Felix and Ryan are holding him up. I grab his face.
"Jack..?" I ask.
"Ade...laide..." He says softly.
"Jack." I say. Tears are rolling down my face.
"What happened to him?" I ask Felix.
"He's shot in the leg, he's lost a lot of blood." He says.
"Bring him over here!" Someone says. I follow behind them. I feel someone grab my arm but I keep limping behind them. Someone takes him away on a bed and I stay behind.
"Jack..." I whisper again. I take a few steps back. I look around. It's a small building. I take a seat on the steps. After a while someone sits beside me. I look up to see Felix.
"It's my fault, I should've just shot the guy." He says.
"It's no one's faultt Felix, it's okay." I say. I wipe a tear away. We sit there until the door opens. I shoot up ignorning the pain in my side.
"How is he?" I ask. The girl sighs.
"He'll pull through." She says.
"You can visit him, he'll wake up soon." She says. I don't hesitate to dash up the small stairs. I look at his body laying there. I walk, well limp, over to a chair next to his bed. I grab his hand and look at his peaceful face.
"I missed you." I whisper. I place a kiss on his hand.
"I missed you so much." I say. I start crying.
"I love you so so much, please, don't leave me again." I say. I rest my head on his stomach. I close my eyes. I squeeze his hand.
"I hope you wake up soon." I say.
"You need to eat, you're so skinny." I say.
"Knowing you you gave what yoi found to the others." I say chuckling. I whipe some of my tears.
"Wake up soon, please, I need you, the others need you." I say. I sigh and wipe my tears. I lean bavk in the chair. I look at my hand in his. I'm waiting here, I'm staying here 'till he wakes up.
