P.O.V. Adelaide.
"Addy? Please wake up." I hear someone say. I open my eyes to be met with Amy's brown ones.

"Good, you're awake." She says smiling. Suddenly remembering what happened before I passed out I throw the blanket off my body and look at the bandaged stump. I put my hand on it and flinch a bit from the pain.

"You didn't catch a fever, Dan saved your life." Amy says. I stare at the place where my leg used to be.

"Here." She says handing me some pills and a water bottle. I take them.

"Where's Jack?" I ask after taking the pills.

"He's on a run with Dan, Ken, Robert and Marzia." She answers.

"How long have I been out?" I ask sitting up straight.

"Almost two weeks." She answers again.

"What!? I missed his birthday?" I ask. Amy bites her tongue.

"Damn it." I sigh.

"We got you some crutches." Amy says softly. My leg was cut off under my knee. Maybe after it heals we can find a plastic leg. I forgot what they're called but that doesn't matter. Amy grabs the crutches.

"Phil, could you help me in here?" The door room opens and Phil walks in.

"Hey Phil." I say smiling.

"Good to see that you're okay." He says smiling.

"Could you help me get her up?" Amy asks him as she puts the crutches against the wall. He nods and they help me up. Amy grabs the crutches and I take them from here.

"I broke my foot when I was 16, I know how to walk on crutches, don't worry." I say chuckling. Amy opens the door as I make my way out of the room.

"So, you cleared the hotel?" I ask. Amy nods.

"We missed you though, it was weird doing it without you. Everyone missed you but Jack missed you most, he tried not to show it but we all saw it." She says. I smile. He really cares about me. We walk into the lobby of the hotel and all heads turn our way. Mark is the first one who moves. He walks up to me and hugs me close. I smile.

"Good to see you Addy." He says. I smile at him.

"Good to see you too redhead." I say smiling. I sit down on one of the dining chairs. The others join and we just sit there, laughing and talking.

"You did a great job on this place." I say looking around. The sun is shining through the glass doors and onto the gray carpet that's covering the floor.

"Thanks, we even build a wall all around the hotel. No one will get in without us saying. You wanna see it?" Mark asks me. I smile and nod. We get outside and walk around the hotel. I look at the wall. It's made from trees, you can't climb over it and you won't get through it that easy.

"You did a great job." I say when we arrive at the front gate again.

"OPEN UP!" I hear familiar voices screaming. The doors open and Ken, Jack, Robert and Marzia run in holding Dan up.

"What happened?" Mark asks running after them. I start to walk after them. I make my way inside and follow the bloodtrail. They end at the room opposite of mine.

"Addy?" I hear someone's voice ask. I turn around to see Jack's worried and scared eyes looking at me. I smile at him.

"Hey." I say. He walks over to me and hugs me. I try to hug him back but that doesn't really work with the crutches. He cups my face with his hand and kisses me. I smile.

"Hey." He says softly.

"Where is he?" I hear someone asking. Phil runs through the hallways and starts banging on the door.

"Phil, please calm down, let Amy do her job." I say walking over to him. He slides down against the wall. I sit down in front of him.

"He can't die." Phil softly cries.

"He won't, Amy will do everything she can." I say smiling.

"There's so much I need to tell him." He whispers. I rub his knee.

"And you'll be able to tell him, I promise." I say. I get up and walk back to Jack.

"What happened?" I ask him.

"We where loading our stuff into the truck. A weirdo came running up to us and he wanted Marzia. We told him no and before we could shoot him he shot Dan, right in the eye, it's my fault." He says. I sigh.

"It's not your fault babe, he's going to be alright, I promise." I say he nods. I smile. We walk to the lobby again where we sit and talk. After a while Amy walks in. Everyone immediately shuts up.

"I got the bullet out and stitched him up, he's gonna be fine, but I couldn't save the eye." She says. I smile. Dan's gonna live.

"Told ya so." I say to Jack. He smiles and grabs my hand. He squeezes it softly. Amy walks over to us.

"Tine to change your bandage." She says. I look at her bloody clothes.

"Don't you wanna rest first?" I ask. She shakes her head.

"Better get it done now." She says smiling. I nod.

"Be right back." I say to Jack. He kisses me and I get up. I follow Amy. We walk into the room I woke up in earlier and she changes my bandages.

"Thank you." I say smiling.

"You're welcome." She says smiling. We walk back to the others and join them. I go sit with Jack and Amy sits down by Mark who pulls his wife close to him. I smile and lean into Jack. Maybe the apocalypse isn't so bad at all.

"I'm sorry I missed your birthday." I whisper to Jack. He chuckles.

"That's okay." He says. I smile.
