*six moths later.*
I opened my eyes to be met with a rotten smell. The once beautifull wallpaper was falling. The paint was falling down the ceiling and there was some on my face and in my bed. I get up and clean myself. I look at the wound on my stomach that was almost fully healed. I put on some new clothes and took a sip of the waterbottle that stood on the bedside table. It looked like it's been standing there for months. I walk into the bathroom that's attached to the bedroom and look in the dusty mirror. I look like a mess, I lost so much weight, I'm almost a walking skeleton, that I haven't died yet. But a well rested mess. I take the brush and start untangling the knots in my hair. I sigh and put my hair in a pony tail. It grew a lot while I was asleep, it doesn't stop 'till the small of my back. My hair always grew fast but I must've been out a few months. I grab my weapons and try to open the door. It looks like something is blocking it from the other side. I put my shoulder against it and start moving it. I get out and see the heavy closet. Weird. I walk down the stairs and see a walker. I sneak past it not feeling good enough to take it down. I look around me to see more walkers by the entrance. I sneak into the field to see Nelly, one of Kenny's horses, saddle on her back. She gallops over to me and I pet her. What happened here? I get on top and tell her to go into the other direction. We jump over the fence and end up on the road. We follow it for a while. What has happened there? And why did they just leave me there? I stop to rummage trough my back. I get off the horse and let it eat some grass and drink from some puddles around the road. It must be fall, it was around summer when I got shot right? Damn it I don't know. I take out some food and a walkie. THANK YOU LORD! I go to look at the ring around my neck but it's not there. No necklace, no anything. I sigh. I eat some of the food and turn on the walkie.

"Hello?" I ask. Static. I found a note with the right station on it but nothing. Must be too far away. I get onto Nelly again and we continue our way.

It's been six months since she's been in a coma, and 5 and a half since we were under attack.

"You okay buddy?" Mark asks. I nod at him. I haven't been the same since we've left. I've had nightmares, I've been silent, I didn't really eat and I wanted to kill everything in our way, and I mean everything. I even shot a friggin' ants nest. I sigh and take the necklace from around my neck her necklace.

"Look!" J-Fred says. We've lost some people. Marzia, Felix, Robert, Mark, Amy, Joey, Daniel, Dan, Phil, J-Fred, Matthias, Bryan, Kenny, Sarah, Ken, Mary, Sammy and me are still alive. I look ahead of us and see the restaurant that will be our home for a few days. It's just on the other side of L.A. crossing the big city wasn't easy, that's where we lost most of our people, but hey, we saved the most. Little Sammy squirms in my arms.

"Hold on buddy." I say. We enter the restaurant that was empty, canned food was stacked in the kitchen but nobody was there. We set up some stuff and rest for the first time in a month. I feed Sam some food and put him to bed. Soon the others start falling asleep and I go outside. I sit on the steps and look up to the stars. I sigh.

"How you holdin' up?" Felix asks as he sits down next to me. I sigh.

"I'm not fine, not at all." I admit. He sighs.

"I just miss her so much you know, and part of me tells me she's alive but I know she's gone..." I say and break down.

"It's gonna be okay, I know it doesn't feel like it right now but we're gonna be fine."

The next morning I was getting close to the city. Passing it might be a pain in the ass but something tells me I gotta do it. And since that something is all I got...

"Alright Nelly, let's rest a bit before we go there." I say stopping by the river to eat something. When we rested a bit I get up again. I climb Nelly and start making my way into the big city.
