"Mom, do we have to go to grandma Lucy's?" I asked as my mom drove us to our grandma's house, we were spending the month at her house because of divorce problems between my mom and dad.
"Yes, now stop the arguing Aly." My mom said and my sister giggled and I looked at her and glared, she was probably talking to her friends about something that she either hated about me or that I was lame, the usual.
"But, does Misty have to come with me?" I asked and crossed my arms
"Yes, please be quiet til we get to grandma's." Mom said and Misty spat her tongue at me, in case your wondering Misty is my older sister, age sixteen and I'm Alison, age fourteen, and as you see we are going to our grandma's which is the most boring place EVER all we ever do is lay around and be miserable, if I had a phone like Misty did then I wouldn't be bored and I could tell my friends how my sister is embarrassing and play games while not being bored!
But, I have to wait til I'm fifteen to have a phone..
"Ok, we'er at grandma's." Mom said and parked the car by the curb, I looked at the old house and in the old window, hey, did I just see someone who wasn't defiantly not my grandma.
I got out of the car and got my bags out from the back, grandma came out of the house and walked over to us, she smiled and mom smiled back at her.
"Hello kids, hello Gina." Grandma said looking at us then mom
"Hi, Lucy, hows George?" Mom asked and grandma laughed while her dog George came out of the house and greeted us.
"George is fine, now have a good time and I will take good care of the kids." Grandma said and mom nodded while getting into her car and waving at us while she drove off, we looked at the house and walked towards it.
I swear I saw something go into the dining room when I walked into the door, maybe I'm just seeing things.
"Now, I will go and make lunch for you girls, you just sit here and I will be right back." Grandma said and went into the kitchen, I looked around and set my suit case by the couch and sat down, Misty kept on texting and I just looked around, I then felt her leg kick mine and I looked at her.
"Misty, don't kick me." I said and she giggled and texted her friends, I really didn't like being kicked, so then after she finished texting she kicked me again and went back to texting.
"Misty, stop it." I said a bit louder and glared at her, she looked at me and smiled and I just gave her a mean look back.
"Girls lunch." Grandma said and we walked into the dining room, I looked around for anyone and didn't see anybody, this was weird, really weird.
I sat down and ate my sandwich while Misty did the same but instead she kept on texting and kinda touched her sandwich, I looked at the sea blue walls, Grandma had pictures of older people and younger people, I didn't know who they were but the pictures were in black and white so they must of been her parents and sisters and brothers.
"Grandma, who are those people?" I asked and she looked at the wall then smiled at me
"Well, that right there is my mom and dad, your great grandparents." She said pointing at the woman in the picture and the man in the one beside her, the woman looked like the woman I saw in the dining room and in the window, she didn't smile in the picture at all, neither did the man.
"And those young people are my brothers, Micheal and Charles and my sisters, Joy and Mary." She said and I looked at Grandma's brothers and sisters, Mary had pretty curls and Joy had short straight hair.
"And that man in the military suit is my oldest brother, Peter, he died a long time ago when I was just a little girl." Grandma said and I looked at them all, but it was my great grandma that I couldn't stop staring at, was she visiting?
"Misty, eat your sandwich." Grandma said and Misty put her phone down and ate her sandwich, I took a bite out of mine and kept my eyes on the pictures, I wanted to finish quickly so I could meet great grandma.
I quickly ate and slid out of my chair, I grabbed my bags and looked up the stairs, I didn't see anyone so I slowly walked up the stairs and swore I felt a cold breeze when I made it to the top, I walked to the bedroom and sat down on my bed, our grandpa made the beds for us when I was seven and Misty was nine, we still fit them too!
I looked around, it had been a long time since I were here last and grandma had repainted the walls again they were pink and had flowers with our names on the door but now the walls are lavender and our names wern't on the door and the pink curtains with strawberries on them were replaced with white curtains, me and Misty wern't kids anymore.
I then put my shoes on the floor by my bed and sat crisscross on it, this weekend was going to really suck!
