Chapter 9 you must be mistaken!

We ran into the large building and saw a woman sitting at her desk, we started walking to her desk.. it wasn't that busy here, seeing this as a big building I thought it would have tons of people going everywhere.

"Hello, can we please speak to.." Charles asked but couldn't finish his sentence, he didn't know and neither did we know who we had or were going to see.

"Speak to..?" The woman said looking at us, her eye brows lifted and Charles looked at me.. I looked around to see if I could find anything to give me a clue, I looked around and thats when I spotted Laura, she smiled and pointed to a poster on the window, I smiled and nodded, I turned back to the desk.

"Can we please speak to, Josephina Valeda?" I asked the woman and she started typing letters into the computer and then looked up after typing.

"She is available, but.." The woman finished and we looked at her, she looked at us

"You have one hour.. make it count." She said and I looked at Charles and my two other friends, we nodded and started walking to the elevator.. it wasn't that long of a ride but long enough that I had troubles thinking of what to actually say to her without sounding stupid and hoping that she would understand too.

"Down the hall." I pointed and we started walking down the hall, I knew that everyone was a little on edge because we didn't know how Josephina was going to take our case.. hopefully well.

We knocked on the door and heard her tell us to come in, we did so and opened the door, it was beautiful.. I mean, the room was awesome, she had white tiles and soft brown wall paper, her sofa and chairs were white and fluffy looking, she had fish in the corner of her office and a huge window with an awesome view.. Josephina sat in a chair behind her desk with almost two phones stuck to her head while writing things on the computer, it looked pretty tough but she seemed to enjoy it.. she pointed to where the sofa and chairs were and we all made our way to them and sat down.

"Yes, ok.. no, I see.. ok.. bye." She said into one of the phones and started talking into the other while hanging up the one and still writing on the computer.

"She's a really busy woman.. should we come by later?" Charles asked and I shook my head, no.. we had to do this and this was our only chance!

"This is something that we have to do." I replied and just watched as Josephina took her fingers off the keyboard and and started clicking the mouse.

"Ok, Mr. Hall.. will do.. you have a nice day too.. alright, will do, bye." She said and hung up that phone, she got up from the chair behind her desk and started walking to the chairs by the sofa where we sat and sat on the chair.

"Now, why are you here and what is it that you need?" She asked, she was fairly young but not too young.. maybe like in her.. 30's or something.

"We came to talk about the death of Laura.." I started and she stopped me

"Kipper, yeah.. her brother Richard.. such a nice man." She said and turned to see Charles and flinched.

"And you killed her!" She said and rose up from her seat, I pulled on her arm and she sat back down but she didn't keep her eyes off Charles.. like she knew he was about to do something to her or something.

"He didn't do it, this is why we are here.. Charles didn't do it, Richard did." I said and Josephina looked at me with wide eyes.

"Richard would do no such thing!" She snapped and I shook my head

"But he did, read this." I said giving her the note and she took it and started reading it, her eyes widened and she gave it back.

"But.. he was such a nice man and would never do that to his sister.. you must be making this up!" She said and I shook my head, we wern't.. but why wasn't she believing us?

"But he did.. he was jealous and wanted to kill his sister so.. that's just what he did." Charles said and she looked at him and then back at me.

"Well.. he was starting to act a little strange for awhile.." She said and started thinking to herself.

"That still dosn't give me reasons to confirm that he killed her." She said and I rolled my eyes, this woman just ddin't want to give up!

"He drove Laura home that night.. not Charles.. enough evidence?" I asked and she thought about it.

"Yes, I do remember that.. that night I tried calling her to see if she made it home alright but she never answered." She said and put her head in her hands

"How could he have down this? She was such a good woman and never did any harm!" Josephina said and I looked at Charles.

"He was just jealous.. Laura always got the attention and he just... snapped." I said and Josephina got up from where she was sitting and walked over to her computer.

"Thank you, tomorrow Richard will be known." Josephina said and we started walking out of the office and to the elevators again.
