Ruby's POV

Yang is so right! Why didn't I think of this sooner? Of course (Y/N) didn't want to work with us. We were a group of total strangers just randomly asking him to come and work in our dorm. Who wouldn't be a little nervous at that? This will work way better. I'll just go up and ask him if he wants to work with just me and say it will be in the library. This will be so easy! Oh, there he is now! He looks so sad with his head down and his hands in his pocket. Well, I'm about to make his day.

"Hey, (Y/N)!" Just as I say that I remember that my semblance is active and I'm running as fast as I can. Oh no! Just as I think that I crash into him and we go flying down the hall. After tumbling a few feet we hit a trash can and knock it over covering us with its contents. Looking over at (Y/N) I see him covered in old papers and his clothes are stained with Oum knows what. A piece of paper then floats down covering my head and face. While sitting there covered in trash, I can't help but pout a little bit at how I messed it up. Then the paper moves and I see (Y/N) holding the scrap of paper and doing his best to smile at me.

"H-hey Ruby. A-are you okay?" I start to blush from my actions.

"Ohmygosh(Y/N)IamsosorryIdidnotmeantodothatIjustwantedtocatchupwithyouandaskyouifyouwantedtoworktogetheronaprojectwithmeandmaybeifyousaidyesthenwecouldgoandworkinthelibraryincaseyoudidnotfeelcomfortableworkinginmydormoryoursandIjustthoughtyouknowitwouldbekindacooltogettoworktogether." After taking a breath I realize I just said all that in one go and that I must have said it too fast for (Y/N) to understand me. I facepalm after that thought. Stupid, stupid, stupid! If he wasn't nervous around me before now he definitely is. There's a sound of movement and I look up from my hand. (Y/N) is standing there with his sorta smile and his hand extended in front of me.

"It's okay, R-ruby. I know you d-did it on accident." He helps me up and helps clean some of the trash up. "Thanks for the offer b-but I don't think we have any group projects right now."

"Wait you understood me?" He nods. Then I register he was right, none of the classes that we share have any group assignments nor do we have any test coming up. Before I can facepalm again (Y/N) speaks.

"W-we should probably get going to class."

"Wait!" He looks back at me. "Um, would you like to study some time instead." He stands there for a minute thinking. Just as he is about to respond we are interrupted.

"Ruby!" Yang comes rushing towards us and I turn towards her. "Oh jeez, what happened to you?" She starts brushing the trash off of me while she says that. With a blush, I respond.

"Well while I was running to find (Y/N) I accidentally used my semblance and we crashed into a trash can." I put my head down and poke my fingers together.

"Um, we? You are alone here." I perk up and notice that (Y/N) has left.

"Oh man, he ran off." Yang rubs that back of her neck and smiles.

"Hehe, sorry sis. Maybe next time."

"Yeah, I guess." With a sigh, Yang and I head off to class.

Sorry this one took a while, but my main focus is the Raven story. But once that story is done which may or may not be soon I will focus solely on this before starting anything new.
