Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY. If I did I would probably have another team based on X-Men characters.

(Y/N)'s POV

I quickly move into the cafeteria and try to get to the line to get my food. Standing in line I shuffle around uncomfortably from all the people, careful not to touch anyone accidentally. This line can't move any slower. While standing around I can't help but feel like I am being watched. I turn my head around and scan the cafeteria for what could be causing this feeling. Off to the side teams, RWBY and JNPR are together at their usual table. None of them would be interested in what I am doing. Over to the right, a little distance from them is CRDL but they would probably not be foolish enough to bother me. Not unless they want to "hang out" again. Team CFVY is off on the other side of the area. The only one of them that would be looking my way is Velvet and that's just for pictures so I suppose no trouble there. Then again if she was taking pictures then I would have heard the little click of her camera. Taking a deep breath I try to calm myself. You are just being paranoid. I am sure if Jay or Rudi were here they would tease me over this.

"Excuse me!" Startled I look forward and see that the line has moved so much that I am now at the front. An angry lunch lady glares at me. "Finally! Now, what do you want?" She forces out those words like it's a struggle to talk to me. Can't say I blame her all things considered.

"Um, the u-usual please." My response is meek. Oum, I hate that timidness and the damned stutter! The cafeteria worker seems to dislike my response too, judging by her face.

"What?! Speak up!" Before this can get any worse a lunch lady that actually knew me from earlier visits came up behind her coworker with a container.

"Here you go, kid. One meal shake, just the way you like it." Well, I don't really like it but it accomplishes its intended purpose.

"Th-thank you." I quickly grab the bottle and make my way out of the lunchroom as hastily as possible. While leaving I can overhear one of the lunch ladies.

"What's his problem?"

Once out of there and away from any wandering eyes I lean against a wall and let out a sigh. Oum and I thought I was antisocial before but this is nuts. Shaking my head I scold myself. It's not like Auburn meant for me to inherit his behaviors. At the thought of my old friends, I bite back tears. Stop it (Y/N) crying will not solve anything. It will not fix your failures and it will not bring them back! Taking a breath I calm myself and then look at the bottle in my hand. I don't have to drink this. Then my stomach rumbles. Okay yeah, I do. Taking a deep breath I down the contents of the container as fast as possible. Yuck! I don't get how Jay and Rudi could drink these so much. Yeah, they give you all the nutrients you need for a meal and a little extra but why does it have to taste like mud? After getting a drink of water to wash it down I throw the container away and make my way to class. The bell rings and I move to the side to let everyone pass. Once the stampede of my fellow classmates passes by I begin again towards my next class. Who do I have again? Oobleck? Peach? I am pulled from my thoughts at the sound of a young voice.

"Hey, (Y/N)!"

So after some thought, I figured that there is some more I could do with this story. So I thought that I would add this and a couple of other things to Ruby X Reader to make it better. Also, I was wanting to try something to improve my stories and make the reading experience better for you guys. I mention this because what I am thinking of doing would slow my updates by a little bit so I just wanted to let you guys know. Anyway, have a nice day/evening depending on where/when you are reading this.
