Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY. If I did I would have shown more of Ruby having to grow up without Summer and having to deal with a shutdown Taiyang.

A Couple Days Later
Ruby's POV
I slam my head onto the table while groaning. Why does this homework have to be so hard!? Someone places their hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, Rubes you okay?" Given the voice, I am sure that's Jaune trying to comfort me.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Jaune, it's just this homework from Professor Port's class is impossible." My voice is a little muffled from the table. Then someone else walks up from behind me.
"Hello, Jaune. Hello, Ruby. What are you two up to?" Pyrrha's cheery tone makes me smile.
"Hey, Pyrrha. Ruby is just struggling with Port's homework and I was trying to cheer her up."
"Oh that homework is a little challenging but I am sure you can get it eventually." I groan with frustration.
"I have been trying for the past two hours but I just can't get it." I lift my head again and bang it on the table again. Jaune's hand leaves my shoulder as I repeat the process a couple more times. Before I can do it a third time Pyrrha grabs my head with both her hands.
"Now I doubt that will solve your conundrum, Ruby." Man, I hate it when she gets that motherly tone and I hate it when she's right too. When Pyrrha lets go of me I look over at Jaune who has his hand under his chin while thinking. Then he snaps his fingers.
"Hey, I know who can help you, Ruby." He gets a satisfied grin on his face while saying that.
"Who?"
"(Y/N)." I smack my forehead. Why didn't I think of that? He's already helped me before. Pyrrha seemed to like this idea and smiled.
"Oh, that is a splendid idea Jaune." Before I can smile too, however, something comes to mind. I don't know how to contact him. I slouch back down in my chair and pout. Both of my classmates notice this and look back at me.
"Now what's wrong Ruby?" Pyrrha looks down at me.
"I don't know how to get his attention." Jaune looks at me confused.
"Wait, you two have been studying all this time together yet haven't even exchanged numbers or been to each other's dorm? How do you two even meet up?"
"We both have the same last class, so we usually just go from there."
"And you two have only been in the library?" Pyrrha chimes in with this time.
"And the cafeteria." They both look at me still confused. "Well, he's just so shy I never asked him to meet me at my dorm because I thought he might run away and Yang said I wasn't allowed to go to another person's dorm if that person was a guy so..." I trail off and they both give each other this weird look after I mention Yang's rule. I honestly don't get it but hey whatever. After they are done exchanging looks Jaune asks.
"Well, why don't you ask a teacher to contact him for you?"
"No, it's fine. I'm sure I've been bothering him a lot with asking to help me."
"Wait, weren't you the one who wanted to get to know him?"
"Well yeah I did and still do, but I don't want to scare him off." They both nod their heads at that. Then Pyrrha looks at her scroll and turns to Jaune.
