Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY. If I did I would have tried to show more of the drawbacks of Ruby being moved up two years in school.

Ruby's POV
I tap the fingers of my good arm on the armrest on my chair. After that whole robot debacle, the school has been shut down and students haven't been allowed to leave their rooms. The only ones that are not confined to their dorms are my team, myself, and (Y/N). Professor Goodwitch let my team stay with me in the medical wing room. The worst I have is a broken arm, so I should be allowed to leave soon. What I'm worried about is (Y/N). None of us know what the teachers did with him after we all go to the medical wing since they just shoved us all into our current room and said in no uncertain terms to not leave. What's worse is that none of the teachers, doctors, or nurses that have visited us will tell me about (Y/N).
"What's happening?! Why won't they let me see (Y/N) or at least tell me if he's okay!?" Everybody looks at me after that. Yang comes over and tries to comfort me.
"Hey sis, it's alright. I'm sure everything is fine. We just got to be patient is all." Carefully, she wraps her arm around my shoulders. Blake then chimes in without looking up from her book.
"Besides worrying like this will get you nowhere." Letting out a sigh I slump back into my chair.
"Yeah okay." Yang's tone changes.
"Aww, it's so cute how my baby sister has a crush." She then hugs me closer pressing her cheek next to mine. I try to push her off but that's usually a struggle with two arms let alone one.
"Yang stop it! I do not have a crush!" She then pulls away and smirks at me.
"Then why is your face redder than your cape?" After she says that I feel that my face is really warm.
"Wh-what?! It's just hot in here that's all!"
"If you are feeling hot when the room is at sixty-six degrees then you may have worse than just a broken arm." Not helping Weiss. I turn my head away from all of.
"I have no idea what you are talking about." Yang then nudges me with her elbow.
"Oh come on sis we all know you like (Y/N)." I keep my head turned away from them while Yang continues. "Oh come on. You are really going to lie about this when the whole reason you are in here is because you got upset at Coco for flirting with (Y/N) and wanted to get vent some steam while showing off to (Y/N)?" How do I respond to that? I mean she got it alright. But that doesn't mean I like (Y/N) like that. I just like him as a friend. Yes he makes me happy when we hang out, yes he was willing to help me with some of my studies, yes he is a nice guy, and yes I there are times where I just want to hug him and k... OH MY OUM! I shake my head and hear Yang's voice again.
"I can see those gears a turnin in that head of yours. You just figured it out, didn't you? You like (Y/N)." I lower my head and whisper.
"Yes..." Yang moves the hair that was covering her ear and leans in.
"Oh, I'm sorry didn't quite hear that. Could you repeat that?" This time I speak a little louder.
"I said yes," Yang smirks.
"Little louder please." Frustratedly I grab my sister and shout directly into her ear.
"YES, YANG! I SAID YES!" My older sibling then backs away quickly while rubbing her ear. Her smile, however, doesn't leave her face.
"See now isn't that better?" I nod my head. It actually does feel better. I like (Y/N). I don't think it's love or anything but I know I like him.
"But what do I do? I mean I don't think I have ever really felt like this before. I don't even know if he likes me like that." I slouch in my chair again. Yang puts her hand on my shoulder and makes me look at her.
"Look Ruby I know you may be a little confused right now and are probably even more worried than before, but listen to big sis Yang. Just tell him okay? Tell him you like him and then see his response. Who knows he might actually have a crush on you too and is just being his introverted self and not telling. Heck, that could be one of the reasons he was so willing to study with you every day like you two have been."
"But-" Weiss cuts both Yang and me off.
"Even if he doesn't like you, just telling him will make you feel better, like how you told us."
"Yeah Weiss-cream is right and there's really no reason to think he will laugh at you and make fun of you for liking him. I don't even think he can be mildly rude let alone that heartless." I digest what they said.
"Okay, I'm going to tell (Y/N) how I feel." I head for the door but I'm blocked by Yang and Blake uses her ribbon to wrap around my waist.
"Whoa, there baby sister. Don't want you running off like you did in the cafeteria the other day. This probably isn't the best time for you to talk about that with him. Wait until we know he's okay and we are all out of here. Can you do that?" Blushing I realize that she's right. What if I barged in on them stitching him up or something like that?
"Okay, you're right. I'll wait." I go to sit down again. Weiss then chimes in.
"Besides it shouldn't take long for someone to come tell us how he is." Just then Professor Ozpin walks in. Speak of the Grimm. Instantly I am on my feet.
"Is (Y/N) alright?" He just looks at me with sad eyes.
