[Blinking Past Today] (4) Finny
My head ached as Emilia tugged roughly at my hair. The more it hurt the funnier I thought it was. Sure it was painful, but it doesn't matter in the long run.
I laughed slightly, "That hurts really badly."
"Good." She said blankly. She's starting to sound like Hunty. I couldn't really look anywhere but forward, seeing as Emilia was pulling my head up, but I assume we got a few strange looks.
"What you did was stupid kid." Emilia whispered. "You're probably a dead man walking right now."
"A dead man dragged." I corrected with a slight chuckle, "Who cares though. No one would mind if little ol' me died."
Emilia stayed quiet and I could swear her grip loosened slightly. She sighed after a while and let go of me completely.
"Here we are. Final destination." She looked anywhere but at me.
"Those movies kicked ass." I said with a nod of approval.
Emilia bit the inside of her cheek, "Hey kid, never think that no one would care if you died. Not saying I do, but thinking like that'll get you nowhere."
"That was very enlightening." I said after a second, "I'll keep that in mind as I'm brutally murdered."
"Keep your spirits up. There's a twenty percent change that you can survive." Emilia opened the door slowly and went inside, tugging at the sleeve of my jacket.
"I brought number 263 sir." Emilia said quickly after she had shut the door behind us.
"That's gonna bother me." I said, "Odd numbers make my skin crawl."
Emilia shushed me quietly.
"Good. I can take things from here then." A booming deep voice rang out in the dark room. I could barely see two feet in front of me.
"Got any lights in here? You'd think some bad ass military facility would have descent lighting." I said loud enough for the man to hear me.
"I'll take my leave sir." Emilia quickly left the room, slamming the door on her way out.
"Well she was right about one thing." The man said.
"What might that be?" I asked innocently.
"You're a pick."
"My title." I said happily. "Now, do we start off with introductions or get straight to the torture?"
Laughter bounced off of the walls around us, "My name is Diego Peniz. I'm the-"
"Wait... Did you say your name was Diego Penis?" I laughed quietly. "Penis."
The man sounded irritated, "Peniz. P-E-N-I-Z."
"Okay Mr. Penis." I said with a laugh.
The man mumbled something before addressing me, "Okay kid, let's get this over with."
"Great! Finally to the torture part. Been waiting for this since I watched Silence of the Lambs. Or was it sheep? Eh, whatever."
Lights turned on unexpectedly and the room was bathed in light. The man was standing on the opposite end of the room in a white lab coat and a white mustache.
"My eyes really deserved the sudden blindness." I said blandly. The man smiled.
"Come over here and lay on this." He patted a hospital-like bed in front of him covered in white sheets and a blue pillow.
