Just another day

Max's POV

The brightness of the sun shining through the windows woke me up early in the morning. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open and my head hurts like crazy. What the, how did I get back to my dorm room? The last thing I remember was passing out after a long night at Chloe's place, which mostly consisted of me constantly helping drunk and confused Chloe go to the bathroom every five minutes. I didn't mind though, I'd do anything for her, even if it meant holding her blue strands of hair back and cleaning up her mess as the night went on. 

Ever since I first reunited with Chloe, we've been inseparable since then. I still feel extremely bad for not keeping in touch all those years. Gosh, I can't imagine how she felt. Her dad just passed, her best friend left, she had nothing... I can never forgive myself for doing that to her. Gosh, I'm such a bad.... Max snap out of it. She's here now. We're together now. And I'm never going to leave her ever again.

I slowly got up from my bed and stretched my body. Gosh my body is so tense.... and it smells bad. I grab my shower stuff and head towards the showers when Kate stops me in the hallway.

"Hey Max" Kate said with a small smile on her face.

"Hey Kate," I say, "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing well. Yourself?"

"I'm good. Just about to hit the showers."

"Oh I'm so sorry for stopping you! Do you mind stopping by on your way back?"

"Of course Kate. I'll see you in a bit" I said leaving and heading towards the showers.

The warm water hitting against my body felt so relaxing and cleansing. A shower well needed. I turned off the water and dryed off, putting my clothes back on. I headed out of the stall when I was stopped by the one person I was hoping to avoid this morning. Victoria Chase.

"Hey selfie whore." She said in a sarcastic tone. Gosh I hate her so much.

"What do you want Victoria"

"Oh nothing. I just love how your face drops to the ground when you hear my voice." 

"Go fuck yourself Victoria"

"Oh! Little Maxine is getting feisty!"

"Max, never Maxine. Now get out of my way." I said shoving her to the side so I can finally leave.

"Don't you dare touch me like that, you insignificant selfie whore" 

My face started to turn bright red and my body filled with anger. I hate her so much. What the hell did I ever do to her. Nothing. She just decided that she hated me, that rich snob with her designer clothing and digital cameras and crap.... and then all my anger and rage made it's way to my fists. I clenched them tightly. Max, calm down. She's not worth it. I slightly turn my head back to see her arms crossed, hip popped to one side, and eyes glaring at me. Hella yeah it's worth it. I quickly turned around and threw a right jab straight to her face. She fell backwards, holding her bloody nose and tilting her head up. It's a good look for her.

"WHAT THE HELL?!?!" She screamed, trying to keep the blood from falling on her clothes.

"Look whose face is on the ground now." And with that, I left the showers and headed towards Kate's room. Damn that felt good.

I knocked on Kate's door and waited for a few seconds. I see Courtney and Taylor running towards the bathroom at the sounds of Victoria's scream. I laugh to myself while they panic and grab towels to help her bloody nose and clothes. It's gonna be so hard to get that stain out. At this point, I don't care what the consequences are. She had it coming. Kate finally opened the door and greeted me in. I walk over to Alice, her bunny, and fed the little animal a carrot. She's adorable. Kate sat down on her chair and offered me a cup of tea. I kindly declined.

"What's going on Kate?" I ask her.

"I'm going to visit my family in a couple days and I was wondering if you could watch my bunny for me while I'm gone." 

"Of course Kate! Little Alice will be safe with me."

"Oh thank you so much Max! Also, do you know why Victoria is screaming? It's kinda hurting my ears to be honest."

I grin as it replays in my mind. "Oh yeah, about that... she just got on my nerves that's all."

"It's about time someone stood up to her. What did you do?"

"Let's just say she might need a nose job after she's done whining." Chloe's sarcasm and humor is starting to wear off on me. 

Kate giggled, "Oh I would've loved to see that!"

Kate high fived me and we sat there for a moment just laughing at the noise and panicking that was going on outside. Kate then handed me Alice's food and other care needs to take to my room, including Alice herself.

"Bye Kate," I say before closing the door, "I hope you have a good time!"

"Thank you Max! Try not to get in any more trouble!" Kate giggled to herself. I always say that to Chloe everytime she drops me back off to school. 

I settle back into my room. I look down at my phone. Oh my gosh, there's 30 missed calls from Chloe and who knows how many text messages. Oops...

Chloe- MAX WHERE ARE YOU 

Chloe- MAD MAX 

Chloe- MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAXXXXXX

Chloe- MAXINE CAULFIELD

Max- Max, never Maxine

Chloe- what the hell dude it's about time you.. got me hella worried for a second but now i just wanna hella beat your ass

Max- Srry. I didnt check my phone until now.

Chloe- Wow thanks a lot. Way to forget about your best friend. anyway, i'm coming for your ass in 5 minutes be there.

Max- you have a weird thing for my ass. I'll be there ;)

Chloe- NO EMOJI!!!

I quickly get dressed in my daily armor. Jeans, a pink jane doe tshirt, a grey hoodie, and my pair of converse. I throw my bag over my shoulder and start making my way out to the front of the school. I sat there and waited for Chloe for 20 minutes... still no sign of her. I should've known, she's always late. I was enjoying the scenery and listening to my music when someone sat next to me. Warren. He's a nice guy, but extremely creepy. 

"Hey Max, whatcha up to?" Warren says.

"I'm just waiting for Chloe" I say. Gosh Chloe, now would be a good time to come and save me.

"Oh cool. Hey I was wondering if you wanted to go see a mo---"

Warren was cut off by the sound of familiar voice. Chloe Price. It's about time. "Maxi-Pad get in!" Chloe yelled from the truck. I hate it when she calls me that. I quickly get up and get in the passenger seat, away from Warren. Warren watches as I get in the car, devastated that he couldn't finish his sentence.

"Bye W...... whatever your name is!" Chloe said at Warren as she sped away.

I was so happy to see her and her blue hair and beautiful blue eyes. The sun hit her perfectly and illuminated her skin making her look even more beautiful. I could just... Max no. That's your best friend. What is this? I was broken from my thoughts when Chloe spoke up.

"Hey thanks for taking care of me last night. I've must've been a pain in the ass." Chloe apologizing? Now that's strange.

"Well you're my pain in the ass." I say humorously.

Chloe did her signature smirk and raised her eyebrows, "Oh really?"

"Oh my god shut up Chloe." I said punching her arm. She laughs it off. "Where are we going?" I added.

Chloe narrowed her eyes and looked at me, "You'll see."
