"I cannot believe you broke your hand punching Hale."

I shot a glare at Tyler, who innocently raised his hands.

"All I am saying is that we should come up with another story so you wouldn't come off as the lamest person in the world."

"The lamest?"

"Yup. Not a single person lamer than you are."

Snorting, as I could only do with Tyler these days, I pushed him lightly.

"If you feel better about yourself because of that, keep saying it."

"Ouch?" he questioned, unsure if I implied he is in fact the lamest person, or if I just said it to end the discussion.

"Ashley Swan?" a nurse called, making us look up.

"Yeah?" people turned to give looks. That was usual at the E.R's waiting area for non-life-threatening cases. But, Forks being Forks there was rarely any case that important, so pretty much all patients sat quietly and waited once filling out forms.

"The doctor will see you now."

"Aye!" I happily said, standing up. Tyler took my bag as well as his and quickly followed the nurse and I.

"Are you okay beside the arm?"

"Yes," I told her, confused.

"Are you taking your medicine?" I looked at her, even more confused. "Dr. Avery and I started dating so I had to leave the Psychiatric ward."

"Oh. Well, Doctor Avery is very handsome, isn't he?"

"Even better naked."

Tyler groaned. "Women."

"Do you wanna get back to school?" Tyler asked after a few moments of sitting in my car silently. I shook my head, and he nodded. "Wanna go to your home?" Shaking my head again, I turned to watch him. "My place?"

"Yeah." I said simply, looking at my cast. "I could really use your mother's skills to be honest," I cracked a smile, and Tyler smiled back.

"Alright then," he stated simply. "I bet she'd love painting on your cast," he grinned, starting the car. After a few minutes of only the soft hum of the radio and the engine filling the silence at the car, Tyler parked the car outside of his two stories house. We exit the car in silence, and he placed his hand on my shoulder, stopping me from going forward.

I look up at him, curious. We were standing roughly three centimeters apart, and he seemed to hesitate. "It's... okay if you're having troubles with dealing. With his return, with you and Paul's relationship, or with Graham... With your sister, or father, or anything. You know I'm your friend, and I'll always be. "

I smiled, hugging him without even a second thought.

"What are you crying for?" he wondered, and I didn't even realize it was true until pointed it out. "I'm sorry I made you sad--"

"No," I laughed, wiping the tears away. "I'm... happy. Immensely so," I smiled. "I... I never really knew how much Iggy and Ariana and Jessie really meant to me until they were gone, and I love Jacob- he's been my friend since... forever- but, there was a feeling of home when I was with them, like, Jacob's familiar, like being hugged by someone you've missed dearly- you know, when you find a comfort you hadn't had for years- but them... and you... You're home. You're like being home after the worst days, and finding comfort in your bed, with a blanket on and your favorite teddy bear with you."

Tyler seemed to not know how to process it completely, but he hugged me again.

"I'm glad to be your home, I guess."

I laughed, pushing him lightly, before walking to the door, him laughing and following me.

I came to the simple and heart-warming conclusion that Tyler was my brother. More than Bella could ever be, Tyler was the brother I was looking for in Bella when we were toddlers.

Family, I learned, does not end with blood. And  my family was little, and maybe a bit broken, but I found it, and it was my family.

And it was perfect.
