Chapter 10- Plans

 

“Princess Rose, you’re up first”

I watched as a tall and slender girl made her way to the front, I instantly noticed that she was very pretty. Mmh maybe she is perfect for Jake

All the girls watched in silence as Renita placed 2 plates on her head. She started walking, her posture was all wrong. I could hear my mother’s voice flooding my mind.

“Kat! Always remember to keep your shoulders back and your head up, posture is everything, you MUST walk with confidence, even if you are just walking across the street, people must stop and stare and wonder  if you are someone important”

But I’m not much on an attention seeker so walk just like everyone else. But if I’m in a situation where I have to act gracefully, I can because its second nature to me.

Rose made it to the end of the hall striking a pose at the end, which almost made her drop the plates then she walked back. She was trying way too hard, just walk across the room and back and hope the plates don’t fall what’s hard in that.

I could see determination in her eyes . As she was making her way back I observed her look, she was wearing a short green dress, which I thought was a little on the short side for meeting the queen and although her shoes were amazing they were a bit too high, no wonder she wobbled when she posed up there. She was almost back to the group when she tripped up on her heel and fell flat on her behind. Two maids wear instantly by her side trying to help her up. I could hear a few of the girls behind me snickering, even I had to cover up my laughter.

‘Leave me alone you stupid maids, I can help myself” she yelled at them.

“They were only trying to help” I heard myself say. Oh no did I say that aloud.

“Excuse me but I was not talking to you, who the hell do you think you are, you wanna be princess.

“EXCUSE ME!” I said slightly outraged at her tone.

“I’m sorry don’t you understand English”

“Why don’t you go and clean or something, with the way your dressed you shouldn’t have any problems getting even more dirty.”

“How dare you talked to me like that, just because your born into a family that holds high power does not give you the right to talk down to people?! At least I’m not the one dressed up like a hooker.                                              

She gasped sharply bringing her hand up. If she dared lay a hand on me I was not going to show her no mercy.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Jake standing anger clear on his face.

“That is enough!” Queen Cleona said.

I jumped a little as her voice echoed in this big room.

“Princess Rose I do not appreciate your tone of voice towards Katherine, she may not be a princess but she is still a part of this competition.” She stated firmly
